Great chocolate taste in this beer. Has a thick, rich flavor that builds up and carries you. Doesn't have much of a bitter profile, which I like. A great NH beer. GregMooreNH (267) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 26, 2017
Pours rich black with heavy, thick head that lingers. Aroma is chocolate and roast. Aroma is immediately bitter chocolate and high roast, with a hoppiness reminiscent of Ten-Fidy. Finish is coffee in a very smooth way. If you like Ten-Fidy, you will like this beer. lavaaaron (131) - - MAY 27, 2017
Smells like vanilla extract but thankfully doesn't carry that through too strong on the taste. Full body and tastes like a lot of black patent malt but also some vanilla and caramel. Family brought this down from NH and I didn't try it until May. A great stout and would be perfect for a January or February day. I like he amount of hops in this too.

16 oz. can. Pours black with a one finger mocha head that slowly recedes leaving some mocha colored lace. Sweet dark chocolate nose with secondary espresso and dark fruit. Subtle sweetness on the taste with smooth chocolate notes with a hint of raisin on the backend of the swallow. Hint of caramel candy. Smooth, silky palate. Full bodied. A nice relaxing evening in your mouth. thepatrickman (1503) - Lewes, East Sussex, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2017
16oz can at home. This is a nice, straightforward interpretation of an imperial stout, without any adjuncts of barrel aging. Some malt sweetness, but the roasted coffee flavor from the dark malts dominate. Good for sipping on a winter’s night.

Can thanks to Bursprak. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of dark sweet malts, chocolate, roasted malts and slight liquorice. The taste has lots of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, a dry roasted taste and some liquorice. bursprak (3284) - Aarhus, DENMARK - APR 11, 2016
Can from recent Secret Santa. Pitch black pour with a dark tan head. Tons of bitter chocolate and roast, light cherry, licorice and a lingering tartness. malrubius (3088) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - FEB 1, 2016
Can from Brewtopia. Black with tan ring and some lace. Roasted chocolate coffee woody hops and some dark fruit aroma. Sweet dark chocolate roasted coffee and some tangy dark fruit with woody lingering roasted malt bitterness. Creamy and medium full bodied. Fruitiness is a little heavy body not as rich as expected. Still, definitely drinkable and tasty. tekstr1der (507) - New Hampshire, USA - DEC 27, 2015
Pours dark, near black with quickly disappearing tan head leaving it naked on top. At least this allows the rich roasted aroma to come through in force. Flavor has some nice roast with hints of chocolate up front, and a very smooth mouthfeel, but is followed by a slightly astringent finish which detracts - it makes me take another sip, but for the wrong reason. tfontana (1185) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 22, 2015
Keg pour at NH Brewfest. Appearance is opaque black, small off-white head ring with mild lacing. Aroma is pleasant roasted malt with bit of liquor, coffee, cocoa. Taste is very sweet, almost too sweet, with a bit of cocoa and coffee as with aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied, average texture, finish is mostly sweet with slight bitter balance.
