Cask, GBBF 08. Hazy brown, thin shortlived off white head, moderate condition. Gently woody aromas with hints of sweet malt and some herbal notes, dry bitter and earthy in the mouth with some suggestion of sap and a vaguely phenolic edge, lingering dry bitter herbal sappiness with a low residual sweetness. Brown amber colour with a thin beige rim. Spruce, hops and yes, Mr. Silk is right, some frankincense. Plenty of ginger too. Wheaty malt finish. So so.

Deep rubyish amber colour, small bubbly head. Aroma is wooden and perfumed as well as spicy and yeasty. Flavour is hoppy, wooden and mildly yeasty. Aniselike finish.
Cask, GBBF 08. Hazy brown with a small head. Aromas are dusty with pine. Some woody pine notes and hints of soy. Flavours are bitter green pine with some saltiness. Clear medium brown amber color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, spuce. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (060808)
