I preferred Negra Modelo over this. Kinda swillish, whereas the dark is just past the bubble in my book. Probably would rather have a Corona if in the "cheap mexican beer mood"....although both of them aren't really that cheap anymore. Don't know why anyone would choose this over an American Pale or IPA....or just something different altogether. This is just another one that is flooding the macro-market. hershiser2 (4047) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 18, 2018
Bottle, World Market. Pours gold with a sloppy white head that disappears very quickly. Aroma is skunk, corn chips, grass... actually inoffensive. Flavor is sweet bread, grass, corn chips. I'm shocked, but this isn't bad. Carbonation is thin, but this is totally drinkable. Raistlin (553) - London, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 6, 2018
Very crisp lager that goes down smooth. Light body with average white head, and crisp texture. Pours golden yellow. Lively carbonation. Non lingering after taste. Kills Corona easily. bunget (1077) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2018
Can. Clear golden body, minimal white head with no retention and zero lacing. Aroma of wet grains, cardboard, corn and artificial hard candies flavors. Taste of grains, strong metallic tones, mineral water, corn and some herbs. Meh. YantarCoast (1770) - Moscow, RUSSIA - MAR 2, 2018
355ml bottle from Bliznetsy in Moscow. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is corn, grass, skunk. Taste is light sweet, malt, light citrus. Much better than Corona.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 10/26/2017. Pours crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining that cap. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread, and light herbal/grassy earthiness. Okay aromas with pale malt/corn and minimal earthy hop notes; with very poor strength. Bit of skunk that dissipates over a minute or two. A bit fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread, and light herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread, and light herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness of pale malt/corn and minimal earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Nicely clean on lager flavors, not too fruity/yeasty. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, fairly bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Fairly thin, but not too watery feeling. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an okay pale adjunct lager. All around solid robustness of pale malt/corn and minimal earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. An enjoyable offering. rogkidcom (5) - - MAR 1, 2018 does not count

Haven’t had a Modelo since a fishing trip in Cabo in the 90s... it was skunky and nasty. Gave it another try after seeing a friend having one. Bought cans- I never buy beer in a clear bottle... Pleasantly surprised. It has a little more heft than your typical macro- and a slight spicy hop edge. Reminds of a Czech pilsner a little... Would be a good tasty lawn mower beer. Of course I tend to drink stouts in the summer and light in the winter. Mostly because I am envisioning the sun during the doldrums of winter- complete with tropical shirts and tiki drinks in January. I will buy Modelo again Didn’t catch any fish on that trip either... Bottle at Black Prince, New Haw. Malty aroma with a sharp edge. Amber gold. No head. Light bitter. Hints of citrus. Malts again. Soda esque element from the fizzy carbonation. Light and watery. Soda carbonation, as mentioned. Abrupt finish. OK. Too fizzy. Too little flava.
