Modelo Especial pours a pale golden with a bit more head than other imported cervezas with light-moderate carbonation. There is definitely more of a malt characteristic than Corona, which makes its flavor slightly more complex but much less refreshing. In fact, this beer is pretty devoid of anything noticeable in terms of hops, except for what is standard in any lower end lager. Furthermore, the aroma is very faint, a bit sweet, and from my experience both the scent and flavor are adversely effected by the clear glass bottle, as they can be a bit on the skunky side; cans are the way to go with this one. It’s decent enough, but like many others in its genre, just not worth the import price tag.

12oz bottle from the bottle. Golden color. Little flavor, nothing offensive. Nice on a hot day.

Decent Mexican beer. There are much better, but it’s decent. Not recommended if you’re on a budget in Canada, as it can be as high as 40 dollars for 24.(depending on region). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Just a decent beer. Better cold, probably my favorite or second favorite Mexican beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great beer for a barbecue. Like I’ve said before, it’s either you love it or hate it type of beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nothing special, an avergae lager, good looking gold color with good carbonatation, light body and not much flavour.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2017 Pale yellow in colour , fast disappearing white head. not much of an aroma but a nice alternative to corona larger when in chiquitos

cattaneopapa (445) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2017
Pours a clear golden colour with a small white head. Malty aroma with notes of bread: similar to Czehwar. Taste matches the aroma with subtle hoppy notes. Medium carbonation. Not bad but nothing spectacular.

Expected more. Little flavour, overly gassy, little taste not refreshing or quenching. Doesn't to go back for more.

Aroma: corn, grains, Appearance: golden, clear, frothy, white foam, goos head Taste: lightly bitter, little malty, corny Palate: light body, thin feel, lively carbonation, very refreshing
