COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black House is an oatmeal coffee stout bursting with coffee aroma and flavor. Modern Times is one of the only breweries in the world to roast our own coffee, which allows us to be exceptionally picky about which coffees we use and how we roast them. The result is an abundantly flavorful beer thats incredibly complex and aromatic, with loads of roast character and a chocolate-covered espresso bean finish. But Black House packs all that flavor into a reasonable package: at only 5.8% ABV, it can comfortably be consumed by the pint.

Can from Coppers, Newcastle. Very dark brown-black with a thin tan head. It has a rich floral coffee, liquorice, chocolate and herbal flavour followed by vanilla, oak and milk chocolate on the coffee finish. Excellent!

Black with a small but thick tan head. Coffee with a hint of chocolate in the aroma. Malty with just a small amount of bite from the hops and dark roasted malts. Smooth (no doubt helped by the nitro) soft body with a lingering coffee aftertaste.

16 ounce can 2.50$ at ABV. Pours a dark chestnut color with a medium beige head. A nice sweet coffee nose. Roast, ashy, big coffee, milky, not super sweet. Licorice and some heavier metallic roast which I love. Solid brew, lots of flavor.

Pint at "b2 taphouse in Salem OR. $6. Pours black as night. Small tan head. Aromas of coffee and cream and toasted oatmeal. Taste the same...like the creamy coffee. Slight ash and some tinges of sea salt AMD dark chocolate. Tasty indeed. Mouth feel is sumptuous and at the same time very easy. An excellent beer.

They really do an excellent job with the pairing of coffee and Stout in this beer. The coffee is truly the star, and it creates a great performance for the beer.

Barwa brunatna, piwo klarowne, piana uboga, szybko redukuje się do obrączki, Aromat intensywnie kawowy: trochę ziarna, troche espresso. W tle czekolada gorzka. W smaku mocno wysycone, wytrawne. Dominacja kawy, ale pojawiają się słodkie nuty czekolady i palony, popiołowy finisz. Intensywne i smaczne.

Can pour. Appearance is opaque black with less-than-finger-width light brown head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is rich roasted coffee with chocolate, oatmeal. Tate is as aroma--like chocolate covered espresso bean with mix of bitter and sweet, as advertised. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation and mix of bittersweet roasted coffee and chocolate finish. Overall, a ton of aroma and flavor here.

Burk @ Mono, Varberg.
