COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black House is an oatmeal coffee stout bursting with coffee aroma and flavor. Modern Times is one of the only breweries in the world to roast our own coffee, which allows us to be exceptionally picky about which coffees we use and how we roast them. The result is an abundantly flavorful beer thats incredibly complex and aromatic, with loads of roast character and a chocolate-covered espresso bean finish. But Black House packs all that flavor into a reasonable package: at only 5.8% ABV, it can comfortably be consumed by the pint.

Aroma is obvious coffee and roasted malty notes with some hints of vanilla and toffee on the sweeter side notes. Taste is at first slightly metallic actually, but when you let it rest in the glass for a while it fades out and taste is more pleasant. Hard roasted coffee grounds, chocolate, cocoa powder and light earthy notes. Light creamy and sweet notes together with the hard roast gives this one a little edge after all.

Canned. Pours black with an average tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee notes. Sweet flavor that ends up being dry and a little bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carbonation. A nice Stout. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sacramento can. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Coffee and roasted malt in the aroma plus something akin to roasted nuts. Espresso in the flavor with a hint of vanilla and milk sugar. Nice enough.

Pours a flat black body with a small fizzy brown head. The nose is rich and decadent roasted malt and coffee with some great oatmeal sweetness. The flavor is very dry and roasty up front, but gains a bit of sweetness on the lingering finish. Nice dark roast coffee throughout. Very solid stout. Medium bodied with minimal gentle carbonation. Lingering coffee and oatmeal finish. Very nice.

Sixteen ounce can from Pacific Grove, Ca Trader Joes for around $2.25. Dark brown pour. Aroma of medium roast coffee. Flavor is like a light imperial stout. I get espresso, a little bitter dark chocolate, and some acidic sourness. Light to medium body and carbonation.

Corpo medio-pieno, ben carbonata.
