COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for The Big Lake of the Booming Rollers in Carl Sandburg’s "Rootabaga Stories"-- a beloved collection of fantastic children’s stories--this beer is an aggressively hopped Citra, Motueka, and Centennial IPA. It’s safe to say this will be the juiciest, mind blowing-est, most palate seducing creation to escape the Lomaland Fermentorium to date. The tropical hodge podge of hops and 6.8% ABV make it a prime candidate for crushing as we cruise into the heat of SoCal summer.

1 pint can. Deep haze. Thin clingy rings of lacing. Nose of orange peel, tangerine, dankness. Taste of orange and tangerine, grapefruit. Hoppy finish with orange zest, grapefruit and piths. Smooth. Insanely drinkable. Solid.

Can. Hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of wintery grapefruit, somewhat doughy crackers, peach, some medicinal soap. Lightish bodied, slightly creamy texture despite fairly high carbonation. Sweet with rather vague malt, lots of fruity and somewhat astringent hops, highish bitterness. Quite juicy as they say, but I would have liked it cleaner and less astringent.

Hermod (8061) - Vantaa, FINLAND - JUL 19, 2017
Draught @ Bishop’s Arms, Västerås. Poured slightly hazy golden color with a thick white head. Citrus peel in aroma, pretty much the white skin of the fruit. Some grapefruit. Biting bitterness. Flavor has citrusy hops, grapefruit, grass. Really biting finish. Straightforward.

tightslice (1353) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUL 7, 2017
On tap at Facebook in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is clean citrus rinds, soap, some weird popcorn flavor. Mildly bitter, fresh, clean and citrus-y. Extra points for the Carl Sandburg reference.

Fruity, bitter and some nuts on the nose. Taste of shampoo, fruity and bitterness. Okay bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long time. A little too bitter beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Aromas and flavors of orange, pineapple and lime, as well as some woodsy pine and forest floor aromas. Medium palate and weight and length, with a slightly wet finish.

DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 13, 2017
Can. Medium gold, lasting white head. Sweet tangerine, peachy hop character with a bit of underlying pine, moderately sweet malts, long bitter finish. Maltier than expected, but I didn’t mind.

Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 10, 2017
Tall can pours with a hazy deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a full light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up juicy soft cantaloupe, mango, apricot and orange peel. The taste is similar with tropical notes of mango and cantaloupe as well as citrusy juices and apricot. To midway it picks up a modest level of juicy orange sherbet. This exhibits pleasing hoppy juicy depth with just the right amount of citrus hop bitterness to counter and balance it out.
