Maakun (6938) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 10, 2018
Bottle shared thanks to Mariuspoenari. Very dark brown with short lasting dark beige head. Quite sugary, caramel, sweet bourbon, toffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, lots of nice sweet malts and soft brown breadcrust. Very sweet and medium bitter. Almost full bodied with low carbonation and some booze in the finish.

Bottle at Maakun’s tasting courtesy of mariuspoenari, thanks! Black with khaki heads. Dark roasted malts, roasted grains, dark dried fruits, coffee, nuttiness, moccha, marzipan, black barley wine, massive bourbon. Big sweet and moderate bitter. Full body, supple and lean. Soft carbonation. Very nice dessert sipper.

This combo results in a bit of a barleywines feel. Light molasses but a dry finish and not sweet. Good stuff.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2017 Draught at Modern Times. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with chocolate, toffee, nuts, bourbon, oak, licorice, coffee and dark fruits. Bitter finish with roasted malts, licorice, dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon, oak and chocolate. Exquisite imperial stout.

Huhzubendah (3776) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 23, 2017
Post-dinner Thanksgiving beer shared with Matt Murray. Near black body with a thin, khaki hued head. Aromas of barley and bourbon. I get more of the old ale character in both the nose and flavor, with the imperial stout contribution taking a back seat. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Fun.

3.8
Nickls (2634) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - NOV 1, 2017
Bottle. Nearly black, some some dark cola notes around the edges. Seeet bourbon, cordial vanilla cherry aromas. Flavor is slightly seeet at first, some dark grape, oak, vanilla, cocoa, and bittersweet dark chocolate. Medium slick body.
