COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Devilís Teeth is a hybrid of an Old Ale and an Imperial Stout, two English beer styles designed to withstand long voyages and dark winters. It brings rich maltiness & robust roastiness in a thick, tongue-coating, aggressively flavorful package. To this chewy mix of old world beasts, we brought a massive dose of our house roasted Black House Blend coffee, a complimentary mix of blueberry-forward Ethiopian and chocolate-forward Sumatran coffees.

On tap @ The Trappist. Dark brown in color with a thin khaki head. Has a pretty nice coffee aroma to it. Slight spice, lots of chocolate, and some roasted nuts. Thereís plenty of sweetness of caramel, molasses, and toffee. Lightly bitter flavor, presumably from the coffee, but still a robust sweetness and sugar character. Maybe a touch of green pepper. Itís not bad, though.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/orange glints/tan head. Aroma of light coffee, darkish malts. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is coffee forward; smooth sweetish dark malt. Hints of some lightly spice things. Smooth and delicious. Nice indeed.

On tap at the Trappist. It pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. The aroma is rich with coffee, nuts, cocoa. Good balance of coffee, roast and some sweet impressions. The flavor is very nutty with some herbal bitterness that adds some complexity to the overall experience. Strong coffee, smoke and roast. Great stuff.

>> Devilís Teeth with Java coffee 10%. Ridiculous latte foam and lace atop a black pour with brown highlights. Slightly buggy coffee nose moving to rum barrel, earthy coffee, salted caramel. Taste is soft and spicy, a bit too chalky for me, but a robust coffee stout in flavor. Big body, bitter dark chocolate and assertive rich silky coffee. Much more Baltic porter than old ale by any means. No alcohol really detected. Wife loved it.
