Stumbled across this one from a friend, didn't really take any detailed notes, however this was on of the best barrel aged stouts I can recall in some time, had this at the wrong temp, way too cold, however it has all the necessities of a solid barrel aged stout, deep mouthfeel, complex flavot profile and just damn smooth as can be, wonderful beer...son!! neongolden (2052) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 2, 2018
(On tap @ MBCC 2017 Yellow Session, Copenhagen) Pours black with a tan head. Notes of beautiful coffee that has tones of wood and earth, vanilla, soft whiskey, dark caramel malt, moderate chocolate, some charred/burnt roasty quality, semi-sweet overall with moderate bitterness from the roast, wood and ample coffee. Pretty full bodied and slick with soft carbonation and hidden alcohol. Quite nice, the MT barrel-aged coffee usually seems to lend a lovely character for those who enjoy coffee-centric beers. No idea why this is an ASA and not a stout, it sure drinks like one! katrinaez (2404) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2017
Rich woody boozy, coffee and slight molasses aroma. Black/deep dark brown with light foam. Taste is bitter and brown sugar with a licorice and tobacco flavor, coffee upfront. Medium to full mouth feel. Bottle. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2017
22oz bottle. Poured a black color with a tan head. Roasted coffee, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, and with the alcohol content well hidden. italianjohn (3335) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 29, 2017
Black pour with a thin beige head and light sticky lacing .... Aroma is of intense fresh coffee, roasted malts, bitter cocoa, light vanilla and bourbon .... taste is of fresh roasted coffee, roasted malts, bourbon, bitter cocoa, sweet malt, dry oak, sweet caramel and vanilla ... medium body and the mouthfeel has some oil and slickness .. carbonation is soft and the finish is a little boozy with lots of coffee and cocoa with light bourbon and vanilla .... drinks more like an imperial stout honestly ... has lots of complex malt qualities, but the bourbon and coffee flavors are so overwhelming and tasty ... what a freaking awesome brew ... mouthfeel is slick and oily and thick body

[ As Modern Times Devil’s Teeth - Bourbon Barrel-Aged & Barrel-Aged Coffee ].
Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dusty coffee, light vanilla - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dusty coffee - roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, light candy - sweet caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
Some roast, some caramel. Lots of coffee like office buildings. Pours black with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Snally. jinroh (2568) - ESTONIA - AUG 26, 2017
Black with brown foamy head. Nose has coffee, something raw chilli like without heat. Creamy toffee. Taste has lots of liquid bitter chocolate, booze and cocoa pudding. Something harsh, actually little hot so maybe chillies are there. Chocolate and coffee also but this booze bitterness is quite strong. Burning barrel character. Interesting. Finish falls flat quite quickly, still a treat. stevoj (5954) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 21, 2017
Draft at PreFunk Boise. Pitch black, small skin of beige head. Coffee dominates the aroma, masking most else. Taste adds some chocolate to the coffee, zinging bitterness. Mild sweetness too. Surprisingly little heat. IndianaRed (5192) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 20, 2017
On tap at PreFunk, Boise. Dry deep dark brown. Modest but creamy and lasting tan head. Huge coffee and chocolate aromas and flavors. Ice bourbon whiskey notes as well. Everything blends together very nicely perfect late lingering abv burn ant the end. Just delicious.
