COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fortunate Islands shares the characteristics of a hoppy IPA and an easy drinking wheat beer. A massive dose of Citra and Amarillo hops gives it a blastwave of tropical hop aromatics: mango, tangerine, and passionfruit all leap out of the glass when poured. Brewed with 60% wheat malt, Fortunate Islands also has the mild, nutty malt backbone, reasonable ABV, and restrained bitterness to make it an outstanding session beer.

Such a tasty beer. Don’t let the wheat scare you off. Super fresh and hoppy. One of my new favorites. Smells like bud and drinks so smooth, with a killer hop addition. Not a hefe. Their best beer of the 4 I’ve had. Loads of fresh hop. Might be my new go-to.

Tallboy can from Trenton Road Takeout. Poured a solid bright orange with a smaller to average foamy white head. Aroma of perfumey citrus, potpourri, breads. Flavor is dry wheat, tropical fruits, dry citrus rind, melon. Body has a watery feel with lighter carbonation and a fruity aftertaste.

Can from Pacific Grove, CA Trader Joe’s. Dated 5/23/16. Translucent gold pour. The lemony orange of the Citra and spiciness of the Amarillo Hops meld well to create a pleasant medium strength aroma. Flavor is fresh wheat, orange, orange pith, and some tanginess. Very nice’ well put together, refreshing beer.

Lagerboy (2191) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 20, 2017
On tap at Red Beard. Clear yellow orange, mostly fading white foam. Aroma of tropical fruity hop. Taste is tropical grapefruity hop and lean wheaty malt. Average carbonation, lighter bodied, well hopped. Easy and refreshing, more of an ISA I reckon. LLF (Less Lagerboy Friendly) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can in Seattle. Lightly clouded yellow-orange, thick pillowy white head. Peppery wheat malt body. Guava, tangerine and fresh fruit on nose. Lovely juiciness top to bottom. Fantastic mashup of an IPA and a round wheat beer base. Delicious, and a nice idea well executed.

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton (Modern Times Tap Takeover) pours a slightly hazy pale orange color with a small white head leaving spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine with some tropical fruits. Taste is a tropical fruity and malty sweetness with a light spicy, piny, citrus hop bitterness. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a nice refreshing hybrid brew that is interesting and tasty. Recommended.

Sunny, tan colored brew fills the glass, topped by a creamy beige cover. The nose imparts waves of grapefruit and wheat with a whiff of cattiness. Juicy mouthfeel with peach and apricot undulating over the palate. A bright and lovely summer elixir.

On tap at Beer Rev. Golden colour, almost no head as most of these pours are. Huge apple nose, butterscotch, slight pine. Soft initially, slight hoppy bitterness at the finish. Okay

16 oz can from jcos. Thanks bud! Pours anunclear golden-orange, frothy head. Spotty lacework. Citrus, grapefruit, a little wheat. Nice hop flavor on a clean wheat base. A really enjoyable, clean drinker.
