COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lomaland is Belgian-style saison thats both complex and quaffable. In keeping with the farmhouse tradition, Lomaland is brewed with barley, wheat, and corn, giving it a complex and delicious malt body that pairs beautifully with food. Czech Saaz hops are added in the kettle to give it a lightly grassy, peppery note and just enough bitterness to cleanse the palate. Its distinctively rustic, earthy aroma comes from the unique blend of traditional Belgian yeast strains (95% Dupont/5% Westmalle) we use to ferment it.

500 ml can. Seems highly carbonated, hence pours out a huge head of white froth on top of a slightly hazy golden hued brew. Froth does not persist, and while the fizz is retained in the brew for quite a while, swirling fails to reinvigorate the froth. Overall, it feels like the carbonation distracts too much from the other qualities of this brew. Aromas are dominated by yeasty, earthy flavours, think of bread, sourdough, biscuits. Taste is a mix of light sweetness and sourness, very much barnyard earthy.

Can. Pours slightly hazed pale straw. Two fingers of dense foaming head, moderate retention, spotty lacing, leaves a thin film. Aroma is light cereal, straw, lemon, pepper. Flavour is low sweetness with a light to mild bitter finish. Taste is a nice balance of pale cracker malt with light pepper. Light body higher fine carbonation, very drinkable. Excellent saison.

Can @ Benzai, 10 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of slight spicy yeast, bit earthy hop, bit flowery. Slight grassy bitterness, bit spicy and peppery yeast. Very clean saison, which makes it a bit boring.

Can @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a generally clear yellow, white head. Aroma presents sweet saison yeast. Taste presents a smooth, sweet, fluffy saison character, lightly herbal. Perfectly fine, unexciting saison / Belgian blonde, if a little over-smooth.

jinroh (1505) - ESTONIA - APR 26, 2017
Nice pale yellow, white foam. Belgian yeast nose, spices, cloves and ginger. Taste has more of that yeast character, yet quite drinkable and has some fruitiness next to these spices. Grainy and malt base actually there but still doe snot interfere with drinkability. Good and simple, starting beer for a night.
