COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lomaland is Belgian-style saison that’s both complex and quaffable. In keeping with the farmhouse tradition, Lomaland is brewed with barley, wheat, and corn, giving it a complex and delicious malt body that pairs beautifully with food. Czech Saaz hops are added in the kettle to give it a lightly grassy, peppery note and just enough bitterness to cleanse the palate. It’s distinctively rustic, earthy aroma comes from the unique blend of traditional Belgian yeast strains (95% Dupont/5% Westmalle) we use to ferment it.

It pours a clear pale golden color with average head. The aroma has a Belgian spiciness to it like pepper and a bit of lemon citrus. The taste has some spiciness to it as well and some nice grassy bitterness. The body is light, clean and dry. I love the description on the can as rustic, it describes it well. This was quite enjoyable and worth the buy.

Slightly darker than the wife’s Chardonnay, with a big white head and noticeable fizziness. As advertised, has pepper, grass and cracker malt. Bit of lemongrass too, and the usual banana and clove combo from the wheat. Body is pretty light - I’d have expected a bit more texture from the wheat.

Can from Bonanza Gift Shop. Extremely pale golden with high airy head. Lemony, citrus aroma, grains in the aroma. Taste is also light, lemons, grassy, mild savory notes. Kind of sweet too. Sweetness lingers for a while, tanginess on the tongue.

Aroma is citrus, lemongrass and honey. Maybe a touch of lemon. Taste is caramel, honey and clove. Pretty well balanced with a nice hop bitterness to round it out.

Interesting. A blend of sorts? Saison fruits on the back palate but the planet hops and minerals very obvious in the structure. Works well.

500 ml can. Seems highly carbonated, hence pours out a huge head of white froth on top of a slightly hazy golden hued brew. Froth does not persist, and while the fizz is retained in the brew for quite a while, swirling fails to reinvigorate the froth. Overall, it feels like the carbonation distracts too much from the other qualities of this brew. Aromas are dominated by yeasty, earthy flavours, think of bread, sourdough, biscuits. Taste is a mix of light sweetness and sourness, very much barnyard earthy.

Can. Pours slightly hazed pale straw. Two fingers of dense foaming head, moderate retention, spotty lacing, leaves a thin film. Aroma is light cereal, straw, lemon, pepper. Flavour is low sweetness with a light to mild bitter finish. Taste is a nice balance of pale cracker malt with light pepper. Light body higher fine carbonation, very drinkable. Excellent saison.
