Bottle. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is aromatic coffee ground, green bell peppers, brown malts. Taste is full on balanced coffee, some caramel, vanilla, and bourbon sweetness. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Well done! Theydon_Bois (21425) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2017

Solid exponent of this often boring style. GarrettB (1690) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 27, 2017
January 6th, 2015 - San Diego is definitely not a sleepless city, so I am a little unsure where the origin of the name comes from, but there is much to admire in a drink that feels like a caffeinated start to the day. This is a brown ale with coffee, by description, and looks a great deal like the part, with a nice, labrador brown body, which takes on a root beer hue at the top, where the brew meets the head. The head is full of coffee notes and just a touch of soy sauce, whereas the taste is mellow. The lightest of brews makes the coffee palate here, and the mouthfeel gives the Sleepless City a full and quenching flavor, with a hint of chocolate bar and Coca Cola to add some sweetness to balance the bitter of the coffee flavors. katrinaez (2355) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2017
Pours dark brown with minimal head, sour, nutty aroma that turns sweeter as it warms, medium mouthfeel, toasty chocolate and coffee taste that becomes more prominent the more it warms, enjoyable, bottle.

Matteo’s Ciao @ Craft Islington. Light haze on this amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Touch of dry nuts. Mild spice. Modest dark fruits. Light semi dry finish. A bit clunky - Top 50? Scratches head!
Bottle at Matteo’s leaving drinks. Thanks Fergus. It pours clear deep red - brown with a thick light tan head. The aroma is musty, earthy roast, coffee bean, pretty sweet, toasted nut, baked goods and cocoa. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, loads of coffee, toasted brown bread, walnut, earth, leather, mild sweetness, raisin and mild acidity with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A pretty decent brown ale. The_Osprey (9670) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2017
February 2017 - Bottle share at CBC Islington for the Matteo Farewell tasting as ’Modern Times Sleepless City’. Thanks Fergus! Dark brown with a red hue, pretty clear, foamy light brown head, light lacing. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, rich toffee, coffee boiled sweets. Smells good. Body is light, tingly carbonation, a bit frothy. Taste is pretty light and thin, coffee sweets, earthy with some slight varnish. Smells great but then it falls a bit flat. (3.4)
