October 9th, 2014 - Modern Times’ Universal Dream has a lofty name, promising something for everyone, and while I doubt it is the "uber beer", it does deliver some lovely flavors that aren’t coated in hops resin. Blonde and custard colored, the head fades fast, leaving a low hanging fog of light, lemony scents, spritzed with aromas of white wine and white grapes. The flavor is milder, with a nice pinot flavor, sprinkled with lemon and more white grape. Refreshing but still engaging, this balances between seasons, which seems appropriate given this October day. Desverger (12532) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 4, 2016

Arms Savoy, Sweden (29/10/2016) - dark reddish amber with a off-white/pink head. Aroma and taste is fruity and yeasty with prominent notes of grape, really getting that pinot grigio) light malty, vinous, some grape must, nice spices into the close. Lovely. (Looking at some of the earlier ratings here with golden colour think they should be in the other 8 variants?)
Sample at SBWF 2016. Hazy golden with a white head. A bit tart with grass, fruit, grain and some grapes. Fairly soft and with a dry finish.

22oz bottle acquired via trade on BA a very long time back. Thanks, bro. Finally starting this load of Modern Times stuff I collected probably a year ago. Pours a glowing golden straw hue, a decent haziness, darker glow at times but lively bright white firm sized head atop sticks around and laces well as a nice crown. Aromas show white grape, sweet and dry mix with farmhouse yeast, a bit of fruity Pinot gris appeal is present, a gentle estery fruit, more dry and light overall. Straw, a kiss of funk, some earthy mineral appeal. More green grapes, some tartness and tannic appeal. Initial is tart, fruity, very Pinot Grigio slanted up front. Dry, tannic, tart and green. Some nice grape presence, earthy and a bit bitter. The backend moves towards yeasty, spicy, funky with gentle fruity wafts, grainy and bready malts, some cobwebs and funk, gentle must. Farmhouse yeast, that Belgian spice, earthy more noble hop appeal is bitter, spicy, and clean. Some gentle fruity ester at times, pear and apple, a bit of citrus. Cleaner and not as yeasty mess as a lot of American Saisons, the grape element makes it really aromatic, very punchy and fun up front, slowly growing into more of it’s base as we get further into it. A really fun nose, front end, pretty pour, bringing it all home with farmhouse and funk, fruity elements and grainy and bready malts at times. I think this is fun, clean, fruity and yeasty. Clean, the grape elements really make it something to revisit and drink regularly though. Some complexity, a bit of intrigue up front and on the nose. Enjoyable stuff. Fun base to work with, I’m thinking.

BWB Tradeshow 2016. Cloudy and bitter with hints of sweetness coming through from the Pinot Gris grapes. cafgen (209) - California, USA - MAR 10, 2016
Color is golden with a white head. Aroma is grapes and sweet wine. Taste is like if you were drinking wine instead of beer. Not my kind of beer. This is one beer Modern Times should think about stop producing.

Bottle shared by a friend at a backyard BBQ. Modern Times is pretty good stuff, but not this one. jgb9348 (6433) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Hazy golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of grain, alcohol, grapes, dry malt and a touch of grass - nice and potent. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive grape and floral tastes up front with a subdued yet noticeable sweet flavour of honey, caster sugar and some light fruits. Aftertaste is more dry with the grass, hay, coriander seed and a touch of light grape sweetness right behind. Overall, a nice and well-balanced beer with a good character and a smooth and dry complexity at the end. Nice to sample and well worth finding! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Tamura’s Market in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii on 31-December-2015 for US$6,89 sampled at my condo two days later on 02-January-2016 on my daughter’s first birthday - Happy Birthday Paige!!!
