Generally good all-round APA, with a nice, hazy appearance and chewy mouthfeel. Good complement to food. Moderate hop levels. On tap at Sweeney's Saloon, St. Paul. portableparty (2398) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 2, 2017
16 oz. can. Pours hazy gold yellow. Aroma has sweet malt oats cereal some lemon drops and citrus. Taste is bitter lemon drop candy with soft armpit cat piss tangerine and balanced oat cereal like malt. Palate is medium slightly chewy and finishes dry yet soft. Pretty solid. drfabulous (9103) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - NOV 18, 2017
16 ounce can thanks to Steasy66. Fairly hazy yellow body with light mouthfeel and hops throughout. Tasty. commonshawn (1363) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 28, 2017
Tap at brewery with commonmac and highendtully. Hazy yellow with small white head, very murky. Heavy citrus and funk, like a ne ipa. Lots of flavor and somewhat cloying. Good stuff, I'd follow this pattern. BVery (11539) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - OCT 20, 2017
Tap at the Happy Gnome. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Tropical fruit and floral aroma. Medium to pillowy palate. Some citric dryness to cut the sweetness.

Pint glass at Republic Seven Corners with Highendtully and blonderedhead. Lighter golden color with a half finger white head. Slight haze. Nose is a slight tropical fruit with an almost bright cucumber quality. Taste leads with fruit featuring pineapple, tangerine, and a hint of citrus candy sweetness. Little bit of resin bitterness towards the end. Tropical fruit seems to be the star. Very drinkable. Finishes very well. Above average effort from a solid brewery. White gold pour, lightly hazed not murky or thick. Initial nose is gorgeously soft stone fruits and citrus. Kiwi, pineapple, lime, and Alphonso mango. The kiwi note is particularly pretty in conjunction with citrus and some grassiness; the generally subtle greenness of it is an excellent countermeasure to the perceived sweetness these fruit forward hops can bring in force. Little hints of powdered cheese, onion, and sesame; a little bit of a rough framing, ultimately. Flavor is brisk and clean. Unripe pineapple, lime zest. The subtlety of fruit in the aroma can’t quite translate to the flavor, but assuming this is pretty low IBU and mostly dry-hopped, this facet is somewhat predictable, and forgivable. There is some onion and garlic, less green than the aroma, again, and a mild nuttiness that can’t find its place completely. The malt buildup is adequate, if unremarkable, rather formless. Fulsome but dry texture; smoothness from oats and finishing refreshment from high acid hops. Soft lemon pith and unripe banana in the brief finish, also getting papery and a bit bland.

So I guess there are many hints throughout that this doesn’t reach the benchmarks for which it aims, but is a pretty admirable facsimile. This beer to me functions as another positive entry in Modist’s catalog moving away from its original "beer designers" phase. They seem to be taking cues from deserving influences rather than following their own positionless compass as it seemed early on; the results can’t help but improve I would think.
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has dank citrus and grapefruit with some rind and sweet grains backing. Flavor has dank citrus and grapefruit, a touch of onion and a hint of sweet grains backing.
