Can. Deep black, fluffy mocha head that dissipates but laces well. Heady aromas of grassy hops with chocolate and roasted malts. Grassy and pine hops go all the way through the beer, with backing notes of rich malt, deep caramel and a touch of coffee towards the end. Really good bitterness. It's a shame it's a limited release. doriangrey (155) - Diamond Creek, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2017
Good tasty mix of hops and dark malt. Lemon coffee and a hint of liquorice. Very easy drinking for the strength varanid99 (1443) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 4, 2017
Black pour with a long lasting, thin tan head, good lacing. Piney, resin, citrus, roasty aromas. Taste is piney, resiny, roasty, burnt caramel, a little coffee, a good long whack of bitterness that holds up in the finish. Good one. Muggus69 (2842) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - AUG 4, 2017
500mL can from Beer Cartel. Canned 25/05/17
Black body, tan head persists.
Roasty, toasty, burnt bread crust malts, with pine, citrus, passionfruit/tropicals in the mix - good aroma.
Medium-full body, actually not as big as expected, smooth oily hop resin mouthfeel.
Palate reveals stacks of flavour - blackened toast, burnt nuts, touch black brewed coffee, licorice, pine, grapefruit, chocolate, tropicals. Bitterness intergrated, reasonably smooth finish.

Beautiful zingy lemon, peach and punchy pungent pine. Pours inky black or dark auburn with ruby tinge and light brown thin head. Sticky lacing. Tastes of flavoursome pine, lemon, tangerine, pine needles, stinging nettles, nuts, subtle tar, caramel, toffee malts. A real treat here. StevieT (2008) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 12, 2017
From a can. Oh wow, this is tasty beer, gutted to see it’s a limited release, it’s just what you’d expect in a very well made example of the style. theswiftsa (124) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 9, 2017
Pours pitch black with a tan head that dissipates into coarse bubbles. Nose is stonefruit, pine, resinous hop forward. Taste is stonefruit hop forward, some roasty malts but nothing astringent. Medium bitterness but not overpowering. Great beer, true to style. Dervock (1573) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 9, 2017
Can - pours black with a tan head. Aroma is a mix of roast malt, nettles and perfumy citrus. Taste is dry roast malt and fruit up front, this lingers into a long, long dry finish. hawthorne00 (4270) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 8, 2017
Can, 10C. Black with a light tan head. Aroma of kumquat, grapefruit, pine, mocha, some brioche. Fullish texture, silky with lowish carbonation. Sweet with chocolate brioche, some nectarines, then mostly tenor register oozes out towards a moderately bitter and somewhat peppery finish. Involving and polished. (Too) drinkable but has character and some depth.
