Moeder Overste is a triple beer with 8% alcohol content. With its full, strong taste, it is possibly one of the best brews produced by Lefébvre. Flanders and the Netherlands have been able to appreciate this heavenly beer for the last 15 years. Moeder Overste has a golden hue and is perfumed with spices, wood and fruit flavours mixed with malt to produce a fine bitterness.
It can be served cold at 5°C or with the chill taken off at 10°C, depending on one’s taste. Enjoy.

the aroma is malty and fruity with hints of dry wine, yeast, citrus and spicy herbs... the taste is malty and fruity with notes of yeast, orange, lemon peel and some spices... the aftertaste is dry and bitter...

33cl bottle. Pale golden pour, with a coarse grained near-white head. Smells like Belgian yeast, pilsner hops and a bit of caramel. Tastes sweet with an added medicinal bitterness, taste notes including Belgian yeast, corn, bread, spices, bitter herbs, a hint of lambic funkiness.

0,33l fles gedeeld bij het wapen van wogmeer. Amber zoet met beetje bloemig aroma. Afdronk wat plakkend.

Very disappointing. It lacks a deep taste that I expect from a tripel, it doesn’t have a noteworthy aroma or aftertaste etc.

Bottle at home. Pours clear, blonde with a rocky head that fades. Not much aroma, slightly yeasty and some slight funky hop. Sweet taste with a faint balancing bitterness. Fruity and sticky palate. Not bad, but not great. Wouldn’t bother with another.

Clear golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is sweet malt, toffee, candied fruit rinds. Taste comprises caramel, biscuit, more sweet malt, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bit of added boost. Typical for style ... nothing I’d revisit.

nybol (2442) - DENMARK - OCT 11, 2015
En meget krydret triple, den har ellers den klassiske belgiske gærsmag......

Icedwarf (1886) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - SEP 20, 2015
Helder lichtbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en licht zoet/zuur, honing, caramel en toffee met wat fruit nuances. Blijft redelijk lang hangen, goed bier.
