COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ascension is a hybrid of a West Coast Red Ale and a Belgian Pale Ale. A wonderful combination of Aromatic and Cara Ruby malts, flaked Barley and Oats. Balanced out by a blend of Amarillo and German Hops. Dry hopped with Zythos hops providing a welcoming bouquet of citrus and tropical fruit notes.

Draft to taster at The Lager House from notes. Pours a clear copper color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, caramel, bubblegum, grapefruit citrus, soapy floral character, mild bitterness, ok but not something that I would be interested in revisiting.

Taster on tap at the Lager House. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head, that leaves great, thicker lace. Very nice west-coast style nose. Big citrus hops, lightly spicy, some grapefruit. Little caramel, toasty malt, some spiciness. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, little sweet. Drinks like an IPA. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick texture. Light hint of the alcohol, more than you’d expect from the 6.5% ABV.. Also more bitterness than you’d expect from the listed 27 IBU... But it’s tasty stuff, expectations be damned. Nice tropical zythos hop flavors in the finish. Good stuff.

Draft at the Lager House. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head that leaves a few streaks of lace. Aroma of dish soap, grapefruit, bubblegum, caramel and amber malts, leaves, and faint apple. Flavor of apple, tangerine, grapefruit, caramel and amber malts, faint spice, and soap. Light-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a dry, bitter mouthfeel. Odd mash-up of a beer.

draft at Moerlein Lager House. Nose is caramel and floral hops. Interesting and a little perplexing. I asked the bartender which style this represented and he read exactly what the menu stated. A tad bitter, but sweeter taste-wise. I entered the beer and made the best guess upon which style this represents. To my surprise 17 people had already had this on Untappd.
