Dark mahogany brown. Smell was not very strong but hints of coffee, toffee, and malted grain. Taste was nicely complex with toasted nut and chocolate. Medium bodied. Great on cool days.
12 oz bottle, poured into a shaker pint at ~45 degrees F.
Appearance: Pours a bright, clear slightly ruddy amber, not unlike how a good Vienna lager looks, and forms a solid finger of pale beige head that swiftly dissipates. Plenty of carbonation is visible clinging to the sides of the glass, as well as rising steadily through the beer. Looks rather more like a bock than a doppelbock, so we shall see how the rest goes.
Smell: Doughy bread with toffee sprinkles, something not unlike leather, and a hint of cooked raisin.
Taste:Definite confirmation of the bread from the aroma, as the taste of fresh-baked bread swells to fill the entire mouth from the first sip. Toffee notes abound through the liquid loaf, as do some earthen and leathery tones. Here and there, hints of cooked raisin and walnut peek through, and the finish is full of alcohol heat.
Mouthfeel: Light and creamy, not quite as sticky as one would expect for a doppelbock.
Overall: Overall, not a bad beer. I’d think it shades more into the bock category than a doppelbock, but it’s tasty nonetheless. drfabulous (7948) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - FEB 14, 2015

Rich melanoidin red-hued beer, with an okay beige head. Rather malty nose, melanoidin and candi malt dominate the bouquet. Candi malt and dank beer flavors reluctantly intermingle. slight sweet candy aroma. looks like darker ice tea with carbonation. big strong nasty alky impact. deep thicker thing. toffee fer sure, sweet thicker. long stronger medicine finish. not impressed. Not nearly as good as 1 Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock, Tröegs Troegenator Doublebock

Clear medium to dark amber brown color with a small, open and frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, caramel, sugary malt, brown sugar, alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, sugary malt, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. 
Clear mahogany with a small beige head.
Heavy caramel, chocolate aroma.
Taste is sweet, bready, dark fruit.....caramel malt.

Draft. Cherry/prune malt and alcohol aroma. Chestnut with moderate head. Sweet dried cherries/raisin and toffee malt flavor. Light astringent finish. Excellent - a very nice beer.
