Draft. Coffee grounds and chocolate/molasses malt aroma. Black with moderate head. Sweet chocolate malt and moderately bitter herbal/wood ash flavor. Very good. Chudwick (3277) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - MAR 25, 2014
draft at Moerlein Lager House. Not trying to be mean, but the nose was basically a wet sponge that had been sitting out and not wrung out for a few days. Sip adds pine hops and roasted malts. Slightly boozy and very well balanced though I don’t think this is close to 77 IBUs. I entered this beer but I am not sure of the style; 8.8% ABV seems high for a Dry Stout, but the regular version (not double) was a Dry Stout.
