3/14/2012: Moerlein Se7en Hefeweizen... Aroma: Wheat; nice banana presence; plenty of clove spiciness. Appearance: Cloudy yellow color with a large, bubbly white head. Flavor: Light banana; clove; biscuit and slightly nutty; crisp, light grassiness in the finish; finishes a bit weak/soft. Palate: Medium-light; good mouthfeel. Overall: Pretty good and refreshing; this is the best hefe Moerlein has produced so far; it is quite traditional and fits very well into their current line up; however, I prefer a bit more banana and a little less clove in a Hefe.
Draught at Moerlein Lager House in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rating #1 for this beer.
Draft at Wiseguy Lounge/Goodfellas Pizza in Over The Rhine on August 2, 2016. Cloudy yellow/amber hue, assertive aroma of clove (mostly) and wheat, taste is also heavy on the clove. This is heavier on the clove than I personally prefer, even if it makes the beer more authentic. Adjust my rating to your own taste. alexsdad06 (10389) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 18, 2016
Draft at Moerlein (and bottle). Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a medium plus sized white head. The aroma and flavor have banana, cloves, a hint of citrus, pale wheat malts, grass, very light spice, not bad for what it is, but not something I would revisit. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy bright yellow color with a large creamy-soapy bright white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweetish lemon and moderate phenol. The flavor was tart lemon, dry perfume and a bit of phenol. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh. weihenweizen (3825) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - MAY 23, 2016
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Hazy yellow with small white head. Aroma is nice clove, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is clove, some banana, and some bubblegum. Solid Hefeweizen. Wallaby501 (72) - - MAY 16, 2015
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2015 Underrated. One of the better beers moerlein puts out. Cloudy, unfiltered golden appearance. Aroma is bright. Taste is heavy on clove and banana. Finishes slightly tart and very smooth. Fantastic beer overall.

12oz bottle from Kenny Rd Market. Murky yellow pour with white head. Aroma of wheat, clove, light spice. Tastes of citrus zest, light yeasty, light banana, wheat. Lightly dry. Highly carbonated. Decent stuff. JaBier (7972) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Sample at the Moerlein Lager House on 9/13/13. Hazy yellow in color with a thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove, creamy wheat and slight citrus. Malty and lemony flavor up front, quickly giving way to sweet creamy wheat and banana through to the finish. garrison (812) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Purchased at the Moore Street Moerlein Brewery in the Over-The-Rhine nrighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this one had the correct banana and cloves aroma of a proper hefe, but I found the palate to be a bit lacking... yes, add more body to this beer, Greg! phaleslu (10247) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Draft at the Moerlein brewery. Pours a hazed gold with a very small white head. Banana, clove, wheat, sweet and barley malts are on the nose. Flavor: check. Minor citrus and bubblegum. Medium-bodied, with a malty sweet mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Pretty authentic take on the style. Nice warm weather sipper. rondphoto (4439) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Cloudy golden amber with a head that reduces to a light covering, curtains of lace. Taste is very mild wheat and malt, doesn’t change through the palate until the sides of the tongue pick up spices, especially cloves and coriander. Mild bittering enters at the finish. Light, refreshing, excellent on a hot day, good for a long evening, but still....very mild.
