Label is Apache Trout Stout. Minimal head. Has a nice chocolate, coffee aroma. Rich, malty and has an emerging sweetness that leads to a dry finish. Very enjoyable. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2003
Thanks Mitch. Pours black, no head to speak of. Chocolate aroma and flavor. Dry finish. DrunkAsASkunk (847) - Lynnwood, Washington, USA - MAY 18, 2003
Another one i must thank mitch for! This beer pours a typical stoutie brown and black mix with no head but a very active carbonation level as was evidenced by the little bubbles attacking the sides of my pint glass. The aroma is a mixture of coffee, and chocolate malts with a hint of coffee bean and vanilla..perhaps a plastic hint or two as well. The taste is definitely chocolate malts and roasted coffee flavor upfront with a nice slightly bitter and grainy vanilla and chocolate finish. A slight souring quality right at the finish. Nice mouthfeel..pretty light bodied for a stout as the carbonation level is active yet somehow held in check once its in your mouth. A doable stout... beerbastard (844) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 4, 2003
This poured as black as the eyes of night, a very short lasting tan head. Had coffee aroma, bitter chocolate taste with very little sweetness and a medium palate. Finished dry, it left a taste in my mouth like I had just finished a cup of expresso. It's good. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - MAY 1, 2003
Dark brown color. Large head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. A full-bodied stout. Malts are deeply roasted, chocolate, coffee and slightly sweet. Nice texture, falls just a little short of velvety, but very nice. Hints of vanilla and cherries as it warms. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A dry stout that is well balanced but a little sweet as dry stouts go. What was interesting was that there was a lingering sootiness in the finish. Brewmaster (168) - USA - NOV 15, 2002
Decent stout. Nice flavor. Above avg. TheTsunami (162) - Arizona, USA - NOV 2, 2002
Dark black color. Very little head. Good roasted nose. Very strong raosted flavor. Dry finish. Allseeingeye (223) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 13, 2002
Tried this one on draft at the brew pub. Not much of a head on this full bodied stout. Nicely balanced semi sweet dry finish. htomren (12) - Long Beach, California, USA - FEB 20, 2002
Flavor is very much to style, a pretty decent stout, better than most. Overall, average and not terribly exciting, lacking some depth, but OK to drink.
