UPDATED: OCT 29, 2004 Bottle 12 oz. This stuff was good 2 1/2 years ago. Full bodied, malty, hoppy, viscous, very cloudy with a pleasant toasted flavor. Then it changed abruptly to a mainstream, commercial, diluted, crystal clear, sterile bore. I remember buying up a load of the older brew when the replacement came on the market. herbstress3 (221) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - SEP 25, 2002
Pretty classic pale ale but definitely missing a hoppy flavor. Everyting else is okay except color is week and aroma is akward. Nice label and nice beer to drink in the Grand Canyon for the first time. Bronstein (175) - Göttingen, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2003
Dark golden color, nice but not lasting head. Fruity aroma with some hops. Starts slightly malty and fruity and gets soon hoppier, finishes bitter. Complex aftertaste. A good surprise. RedEft (155) - Wichita, Kansas, USA - AUG 3, 2004
Picked this up in four corners country in Arizona. Beautiful copper color with one hell of a hop assault on the tastebuds. Eye-opening, bitter aftertaste. I’d definitely buy it again. bbooth (115) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JUL 16, 2002
A buddy of mine gave me a bottle of this, and I think it may have gone bad, because there was slight ’funky’ smell to it that also came out in the finish. The same smell and taste was in the Amber as well. I think I will try this again later and re-rate, but until then this beer was aweful.
