Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy copper colour, small head. Grapefruit and caramel lures underneath a thick blanket of fine brandy. Sweet with full body and rounded, oily mouthfeel. Heavy, but not overpowering. Good balance of caramelly malt and aromatic hops. Long bitter finish with balanced peppery heat. Flawless, but I miss a soul. fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 21, 2013

Dark amber color, clean, with small head, not persistent. Caramel aroma, some hop, maybe fruity, not convincing (6.5). Good malt and caramel flavor, but the body is too lean, and less sweet than a typical Barley Wine, it’s therefore easier to drink, nevertheless not on style; quite strong bitterness, not overwhelming, with mostly a resiny character, and not much fruits; the alcohol tickles the tongue in the end.
Good, without impressing; balanced and clean.
Probably not suitable for aging; probably better moved to another style (American Strong).

courtesy of Antonio Rey - hazy ruby-brown beer with no head retention; aroma of prunes, cherries, bubblegum, ripe banana; solid sweetness, full-bodied, very bitter; aftertaste of caramel and prunes - the alcohol is quite hidden
