330 ml bottle. Tapp 89. BB 24/12/2012. Courtesy of laiti.
Dark brown colour with a small tan head. Roasted malt, ash, soy, hoppy bitterness and dryness in the aroma. The flavour is very nice. Ashy dryness, roasted malt, mild sweetness and mild balancing hops. Very tasty. 9.7% well settled.

330 ml bottle, thanks laiti. Pours a black colour with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, chocolate and some glue. Rich flavour of bread, roastiness, soy sauce, biscuit, red wine, licorice and bitterness. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a roasty, salty, slightly sweet finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle: Thanks rlgk: Served in a Chouffe glass: Brown to black pour. Medium sized, vast and slowly changing, beige to more brown colored foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of toast, coffee, roast, hops, pepper, liquorice (wood), some chocolate, barley malt toast/roast, hints of caramel, coal and marzepin. Flavours of liquorice wood, cream, coffee, roast, some darker chocolate, bitters, wood roast, barley malt roast, mocha, some raisin, some spices, light hint of caramel, marzepin... Good deep roasty flavours. Very nice. Aftertaste is a mix of roast (barley malts, hay and wood), coffee, bitters, some chalk, chocolate and a hint of spices. Leaning towards complexity. Low carbo, a mouthfeel between watery and creamy, medium to full body and a light oily texture. Nice beer, kept very well within those two a three years.

Pitch black, big cloudy brown foam. Aroma has hints of juniper, licorice, sweetness and coffee. Taste has fruits, juniper, licorice and coffee in the aftertaste. Palate is is full. Overall this is great imperial porter, the juniper was a big surprise. But I liked it.
