Nut brown color, good brown head. Caramel, toffee and alcohol in the nose. Full-bodied. Toffeish, liquerish with hints of madeira. Burning finish. Lots of potential.

Bottle, at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It pours a dark unclear brown body under a dense, finger-thick head. The alcohol is sure present, which isn’t surprising at 17.2%, but there’s also lots of room for toffee and chocolate. Some coffee and prunes chiming in. Warming, full-bodied and soft on the palate, with malty sweetness, toffee, coffee and some dark chocolate. Prune hints towards the warming, sweet finish. Too sweet and warming this one, but sure decent. 140823

Bamberg jolly day 2 25/01/2014. Tasting at Cafe Abseits. Thanks to AndySniow. Viscous sryupy orange red amber coloured pour. Flavour is hot burning alcohol, slightly harsh. Some berry. Aroma is hot alcohol, jammy, biscuity malts and fruits. Palate is viscous, sryup, sticky full. Big beer, a bit heavy handed.

Rune (13644) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 29, 2015
375ml in a dark green bottle with a golden neck. Vintage 2012 bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Fair fawn-coloured head dissipating over an unclear red-brownish body. Prominent aromas of bread, herbal hops and bourbon. Comprehensive taste of juicy bread, figs, vanilla oak and ripe orange. Port and bourbon backbone. Dried fruity ending with tingling alcohol down the swallow. Enjoying, heavy stuff. (Slow sipper during the earth hour, Tromsø 28.03.2015).

Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, oak, vanilla, chocolate, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long oak, vanilla, caramel and dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2013 375 ml bottle from Systembolaget, thanks to deft.
sampled on March 1, 2013.
Vintage 2012.
Clear reddish brown color, brown head. Sweet, Salubrin, terpentine, solvents, nail polish remover scent. Sweet, charcoal, alcohol, sticky taste. Sweet, alcohol, burning aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Initial rating: 5/4/6/4/11=3.0
When allowing to warm up, breathe a bit and wait for a few other tastings then to return, goes more to my liking, more drinkable if you wish.

Bottle from Systembolaget, bought in March 2013.

Hazy dark brown with a small firm tan head. Aroma of alcohol, fruit, oak and bourbon. Sweet taste of oak, light licorice, bourbon, some fruit. The body was full and the carbonation low. Warming alcohol in the finish. Really strong but still rather drinkable.
