BeerSkull (1373) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2012
Aromatic hops aroma and taste with elements of roasted malt and some licorice. In the taste there is a wonderfully smooth and dry tone of oats. The aftertaste has a long dry bitterness. A very delicious and nice beer!

Bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Nice citrusy aroma. Very fresh and Ipaish with an addition of chocolate. Non of the malt bitterness I usualy disslikes with black IPAs.

gyllenbock (9177) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 29, 2012
Bottle. Almost black with a brownish head. Aroma of hops, some roasted malt and licorice. Quite nicely balanced, something sweet in the taste. Relaxed and not extremely hoppy. Descent Black IPA.

kryon (3554) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2012
pours dark with low thick head freshly hopped aromas, bready and caramelly malts. i sense passionfruit, pine, brown sugar and hints of tropical fruits. so far good. palate a bit mild almost watery however taste is nice filled with a mix of coffee and fresh citrusy fruits. bitter aftertaste a good black IPA that would get better rating with a better palate

VsXsV (4442) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 25, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown, almost black, opaque liquid with small to medium mocha head. Smells of grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruit, tangerines, coffee, ash, dark chocolate and pine. Taste is dry, medium to high bitter and quite roasted with notes of coffee, light ash and some fresh hops. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. The bitterness is maybe a bit metallic, but overall this is a better than average BIPA. Really enjoyable.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 22, 2012
Bottle, from trade with Cunningham. Cheers man! :-) Pours a near-black ultra-deep brown body with a small, light beige retention. Nose is floral hops, pine, leather and hints of licorice and metal. Faint traces of sulfur as well. Taste is piney hops, licorice and metallic tones along with some cellar must, fading out in a rather resinous bitter finish. Hints of cacao and dark chocolate. The cellar mustiness doesn’t really work well in this beer, and the metallic tones does nothing to help out. Medium body and carbonation. Not my favorite BIPA, but I do like the name! :-D

Almost black with large head. Citrus and pine in the aroma. Moderate body. Taste of grapefruit and coffe.

Trevlig humledoft. Hyfsat smak av humle och brända toner samt lite lakrits. Ok eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
