Black color, brownish creamy head. Strong aroma of roasted malt, with some ashes (too much); some biscuity malts, and quality hops. Smooth mouthfeel; very good flavor of roasted malts, biscuits, some burnt malts, coffee; strong bitterness with a lot of hop resins; long final.
Vibrant, excellent.

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Ronny, 30/12/12. Very dark mahogony brown/light black with a thin tan head that clears to a very small edge piece. Nose is dark chocolate, hops and pine, dark malts. Taste comprises dark malt, sugars, hops, pine, chocolate, light mineral notes. Full end of medium bodied with soft carbonation, bitter roasted in the finish. Decent enough.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma is quite roasted and with a touch of burnt malts, dark sugar and some chocolate hints. Rather hoppy. It’s quite bitter and hoppy on the palate, with a soft carbonation level. Semi-sweet, but rather dry. Chocolate, cocoa, burnt notes, dark sugar and some coffee. Lasting finish. Feeling sort of thin on the palate, but it’s overall quite nice. 150314

500ml bottle - shared via rosenberg - thanks!
Very nice hoppy twang to an otherwise decent roast. I’m thinking "black IPA" here. Lovely rich roast, slight moccha cakeyness. Retronasals are richly roasted, but also nettly hops too. Full and smooth palate pleasat carbonation. Finish roasty, heading towards burnt, but definitely not ashy. There’s a strange sharpness which is a little offputting, otherwise it’s very nice.
