On 33 cl bottle. Pitch black color, ok offwhite foam. Medium/high aroma intensity; roasted, licorice, coffee, choclate and malt. Full body & high complexity. Good bitterness and balance. Very enjoyable

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Black color. Very coffeish aroma with pepper, grass, leather, juniper and hint of smoke. Sweet and roasty flavor with grassy coffee, licorice and bitter chocolate. Full body, some tannic astringency in the palate. Not my favourite IS, but quite complex.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. 2012 vintage. Pours black with a creamy and frothy dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, grass, moist soil, salty liquorice candy, caramel, burnt cookies and alcohol. Taste is heavy bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, burnt caramel, grass, pine, resinous wood, salty liquorice and alcohol. Mouthfeel is velvety, round, slightly astringent and near full bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, grapefruit rinds, grass, pine, resinous wood, coffee, salty liquorice and alcohol. An imperial BIPA? Whatever it is it’s good.

Bottle at home, from SB. Dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma heavy malty (roasted, honey, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, licorice) and hoppy. Flavor medium sweet, spicy honey, chocolate, coffee, licorice, bitter and spicy, long lasting. Body almost full, oily, low carbonated.

Palme (4857) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 10, 2016
0.33l bottle. This is a darker looking brown one with an initially good looking really creamy quickly going sidesticking and islandy chocolate milk colored head. This smells really nice. Lots of roasted darkness with salty licorice and some butter chocolate. Loaded with licorice actually, and it actually smells a little like chocolate milk as well. Nice stuff for sure. Oh, it has a lovely silky chewy oily texture in the mouth this, soft and prickling on the carbonation. Loaded with roasted darkness and chocolate. Some mocha coffee, cocoa and there’s more licorice in the taste also. The aftertaste almost doesn’t end and what a lovely dark and roasted aftertaste this is! Leather and traces of tobacco. A really fine one all the way! 05.03.2016

@ Basunen: Rostat, mjölkig doft. Smaken är tydlig rostat, lite besk, småhet och med en del kaffe. Småtrevlig
