COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An organic ale that is called Forêt in the U.S.A.

The Moinette Biologique is a top fermentation blond beer with refermentation in the bottle. It was created in 1990 and is, together with the “Saison Dupont Biologique”, one of the first two organic beers. The Moinette Biologique has the combination of malt aromas, fruitiness and fine hops. It is very thirst-quenchening and strikes a fine balance between mellowness, fruitiness and bitterness. The long refermentation in the bottle ends up in a very complex beer. The production is being controlled by Certisys and has the label Biogarantie®.

Ingredients: water, organic barley malt, organic cane sugar, organic hops, yeast.

330 ml bottle as "Dupont Forêt" bought at Q Club in SoHo, Central.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden orange colour with a layer of dirt like yeast sediments; Two finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 4 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with fizzy small carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant full malt, with strong oranges, peaches, vanilla, floral, fair sugar, strong spices, cloves, thick bread, strong Bel yeast, lemon and light grass.

Taste: Medium sweet full Pils malt, with strong yellow fruits, light peaches and apricots, alcohol, floral, fair sugar, dough, thick bread, Bel yeast, lemon, fair bitter hops and grass.

Body: Full body. Dry and slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Tasty full Pils maltyness in a very solid background. Dry as hell, rich and smooth. Pretty expressive esters of yellow fruits with flashes of apricots and peaches. Alcohol is very well hidden. Flowery with moderate sweetness, very doughty and Bel yeasty with lemon to round. Very comforting!

Hoppiness: Floral, strong spices, lemon and light grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is moderate for a lasting, mid to fair astringent bitter-sweet full malty finish.

After Taste: Bone dry. Bready citrusy and fairly bitter to mouth.

Comments: What make this one so lovable is the honest and wholesome Pils maltyness - well attenuated yet maintaining a full body - and a clever Bel yeast with a subtle fruit and spice characters. This all down to brewer's expertise and I have to say, well done with two thumbs up!

75 cl bottle, cork screw. Porter yellow color, hazed, big frothy white head. Smell is citrusy, hoppy, yeasty classic of the style. Aroma pale malts, citrusy hops, grains, earthy yeast, light sugary, grassy. Very earthy, spiced. Raw, earthy, crude yet refined, nice one.

From Jul 2008 I got this bottle in a trade with nutbrown. Thanks Alan! 2007 vintage as per cork... It pours a hazy hazy peach colour with a beautiful head of foam that take about one third of my Celebrate glass. The lacing is stick and it is awesome! Quite the beauty appearance wise. The smell is all Saison. Lots of yeast, fruit, some clove, some pepper, and very earthy. The taste follows through...big earthy/musky tones with nice yeasty notes, coriander, clove, a little pepper, some citrus tartness, all in a medium bodied, medium carbonated package and it finishes delightfully dry. Very tasty and very drinkable. Yeah, it's not exactly a lightweight in the abv department but still, I can't stop taking sip after sip and I'm a big fan of the style when it is done right. This one fits that bill. No pun intended. Thanks again, Alan!

Bottle at the Aaahhh...ØL!!! Julebord 2016. Hazy yellow body with a big white head. Aroma is citric with pepper, bread and funk. Taste is lightly sweet with orange and pine, spicy yeast esters, clean fruity refreshing finish. Very nice!

0.75l bottle. Murky golden body with an enormous white head. The carbonation is extremely vigorous. Huge barnyard notes in the aroma after the first whiff followed by some bread, grass, earth, pepper, lemon zest and some floral hops. The barnyard character fades quite quickly though. Taste of honey, hay, lemon zest, pepper and grassy hops. The finish is crisp like a dry sparkling wine and bitter too. Very enjoyable beer. Like a well made strong saison.

BBE 05/2018. Superiso tuuhea viipyvä vaahto, samea oranssinen väri, hapokas. Tuoksu viettelevän tyypillinen makea belgistrong. Suutuntuma makean hedelmäisä, salmiakkinen, kuiva, hapokas mutta pehmeä, nopea. Nautittava.

Golden, high carbonation. Fruity aroma with bit of spices. Taste with more malty notes. Not much happening, but drinkable.

Aroma is crisp grassy, herbal with a faint white pepper aura. Taste brings light pineapple fruityness, pears and honey. Soft and round and the alcohol is really well hidden despite the rather crisp setting for the beer. Dry in the finish with a small funk sensation as well. There’s a lot of small subtle notes flying around in this one. Excellent!
