dark brown color. Huge smokey nose with a touch of peat, smoked Gouda and ham and dark chocolate and molasses. Chocolate and peanutbutter, slightly oily mouth. Smokey applewood lingering finish with a touch of dark chocolate. Unbelievable depth and complexity. The smoke just lingers.

Bottle from the brewery. Says that there are 8 different malts used. Opaque and black, with a medium, off-white head. Aroma of smoky dark malts, caramel, wood. Rich malt flavor, smoky, with caramel, some dark fruits, a touch of hops, and roasted malt. Sweet and creamy, and yet balanced by smoke and roasted bitterness. Medium palate, light carbonation, smooth. A nice, well-balanced package, slightly too sweet, but a good amount of smokiness and very flavorful.
