UPDATED: NOV 23, 2004 Dark reddish gold. Like a rich rich amber. Decent amount of white head. Aroma has lots of alcohol, lots of malt (slightly cereal grainy), typical light nail polish remover flavor right away, but the alcohol kicks in and sours it out some and the finish provides a medium sweet, medium acidic malt kick that is a little more flavorful. Cant tell if there is some hops in the body or if that is just some grainy alcohol mix. Quite full bodied at least, cant call this watery. Peppery carbonated texture at first, but after sitting the beer gets better and smooths out, I can even detect a little bit of ripe orange fruit esters. Though this style is inherently flawed (as are american adjunct-laden lagers), this is one of the better malt liquors Ive had.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2003 Golden straw beer w/a surprisingly good white head that lasts. Grainy malt aroma w/a little green apple acetaldehyde. No hop or fruitiness. Very grainy sweet flavor with a little hop to balance. Overall balance is to malt with little complexity and finishes sweet and clean. Fuller light bodied w/ a moderate level of carbonation. Not terribly exciting, and about a half a step above American malt liquor!!!!! American Version has hints of solventy alchohol in the flavor

Yech, this is what I used to think all strong beers tasted like. Molson should only sell this in 40 oz. and stop trying to kid themselves. It'll get you drunk but the journey to get there leaves to be desired.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2005 Ah, the legendary Molson XXX. Pours a typical American Standard color with a decent head. Nice malt aroma. Tastes exactly the same as regular Molson Ice. I couldnt taste the alcohol, which is a plus, but, man, this stuff catches up to you quickly. Back in the old days, you couldnt get this stuff in the US. So I took the Greyhound bus from Rochester, NY to Niagara Falls, ON with the express purpose of drinking this exalted swill. Fourtunately, the trip paid for itself at the casino. So all you newbies remember what us Triple X fronteirsman had to go through to get this junk.

this is pretty heavy stuff, but not too bad though. Isn't legal in the states though which sucks.

When you want to get piss drunk in a short amount of time this is the beer for you. The amount of alcohol is staggering and you can taste it thats for sure, but what the hell, at least you dont taste anything after about 6 of them.

For a minute i thought i was in the Ghetto, this is definately a nasty brew.Nice golden color and thats about where the goodness stops.Small head mildly malty aroma with a very strong hint of alcohol.the taste was much the same with a MUCH bigger emphasis on the alcohol.I can see why they try to get this into the low income area's it's cheap and definately gets you where you want to go if drunk is that area. There is better beer out there but i haven't found a good malt liquor yet they all seem to be one sided, with the one side being alcohol.
