Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 2. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Fresh mild minerally carbonation. Milky malt as expected with just a touch of roast. Smooth finish.

On tap at Borefts BF 2012, Bodegraven. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige cap. Nose holds dirt, dark berries and mellow cocoa. Light sweet flavor with some licorice and bitter cococa. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Fine finish with a bit of earthy bitterness, light cocoa, some toasty sugars. Not bad. Pretty mellow overall.

2.4
brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Dark brown pour with a small off-white head. There is a decent roast and chocolate note with some hints of milky sweetness. A strong coffee note, but far too acidic on the nose. The flavor is similarly flawed with a really heavy acidity to it. A bit of chalk, some bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a slight toffee sweetness.

Tap @ Borefts 2012. Fresh grassy hoparoma. Fresh hopflavor. Roasty with some smoked malt, especially revealing itself in the aftertaste. Good!
