Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Momo’s. Medium copper pour, bright white head, decent lacing. Aroma has some toe jam accents, a hint of orange marmalade - just a tad off-putting. Flavor has some slight underlying bitterness, a bit of caramel sweetness, some random spice - possibly nutmeg. Decent spritz to the mouthfeel. Pours a clear gold on tap with thin white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is biscuit, faint grain and English yeast. Taste follows, but a hint of phenolic bitterness. Not bad, easy to drink one, but not sure I want more beyond that. Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2013 Sulphury and cresol aroma - the brew didn’t stink, but I consider the off notes a major flaw. Nearly clear, medium gold, clingy thin white head. Biscuity, generally. Moderately bitter, not sweet, not fruity. Just a dry maltiness with Goldings, or something similar. Medium to slightly heavy body, generally crisp mouthfeel, long nondescript bitter finish with light cereal. Tap at brewpub. clear Golden orange with small white head but good lacing. Grainy dough aroma with light floral hop character. Taste is similar with caramel notes finishes dry. Good very session able pale ale with a distinctly British taste.
