The looks of the beer are nice. In the dark the beer looks rather dark brown, but in the light a lovely coppery brown color is reveil. The beer has a nice cloudiness to it. On top of the beer a nice layer of slightly offwhite foam is formed. Foam retention is a bit low, but that is no big problem. Not bad.
The smell of the beer is nice. I smell nice sweet malts. There are some bready and caramel aromas. The caramel gives a bit of power to the smell. I smell a hint of chocolate and also touches of bitter hops. Hop aroma’s aren’t that strong, but for the character of the beer that is no big problem, since it is mostly a malty beer.
The taste of the beer is nice. Nice malts with touches of caramel, a twist of chocolate and some bread, and nice bitter hops. The hops give a tiny fruity hint, but mostly bitters. I like the toasted malts flavours. They give the beer nice body. Good. There are nice sweets, bitters and a savoury touch from some roasted malts. All is in good balance. Nice.
The palate of the beer is good. Medium-full body, smooth and medium-high carbonation. The finish is a bit thin and not that long. Some malts are there and a touch of hop, but it could be better. But, all in all, quite a nice beer. I like it. nybol (2611) - DENMARK - JAN 27, 2017
List underlig smag. Fin mørk smag fra malten, der er ikke meget humle I det. Virker som om det er for lidt malt.
