A crisp, drinkable IPA. The earthy deliciousness of Cascade and Simcoe hops, combined with upfront malt flavor, and balanced with a pirate’s sensibilities. Our Eye Patch Ale is a uniquely drinkable take on the American IPA – sweet caramel, citrusy flowers and swashbuckling adventure abound with every pint.

Brewed at Thomas Creek before the brewery opened.

Tap @ Braves All Star Grill, Atlanta. Amber with a small head. It’s a fruity, with a stated pale ale texture. Has a citrus bitterness and a fair nose in this respect.

Type: 16-oz. draft Glass: Clear shaker pint glass From: Ted’s Montana Café in Atlanta, Ga. Price: $6 Purchased: Dec. 8, 2016 Consumed: Dec. 8, 2016 Reviewed as: American IPA Misc.: N/A Not a great selection on the menu (in fact, even their bison burger was not that good), so I went with the local option. Had heard of Monday Night Brewing looking at the Atlanta beer scene before my trip, but did not go looking for it. Kind of excited to try it. Poured a light amber clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of white frothy head when I got it. Some bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled pine, caramel, some herbal, Cascade and Citra. Seemed to me somewhat dry. (Smell - 3.50) Taste followed the nose, reminding me of something that came out about five years ago. Pine, herbal, wet Cascade, Citra and very soapy. (Taste - 3.50) Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.50) I probably overrated this overall. Just an OK IPA. (Overall - 3.50) 3.55 81 B

Draft at ATL airport. Bright and bubbly. Floral and fruity, very drinkable. Light and enjoyable with jay enough of a kick to make it fun. ((#6438, 11/39/2916)

On tap, yellow gold color small white head. Nose is mellow fruit, some corn. Sweet palate, medium carbonation, slight dryness on the finish, some caramel hints. Short finish with hint of citrus. A bit of an underwhelming ipa, but drinkable and I enjoyed it.

DocJitsu (2095) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - NOV 6, 2016
Pours a cloudy, dull orange-golden with a short white head. Sweet candied citrus nose. Heavy mouthfeel with some astringency and sharp carbonation. Grapefruit with plenty of malt presence. Bitters progressively and substantially.

On tap at Melt, Birmingham, AL, 3.5.16. Clear-to-hazy amber with a white head. Subtle tropical fruit aroma, light bitterness with a little onion peel but with a solid malty-toasted based in the mouth. Medium-to-full body, bitter with mild onion finish. Very good.

Bottle: Cloudy orange gold in color with a white head that maintains a thin covering and lace ring. It has a nice hoppy aroma and taste. An easy drinking ale.

Meh IPA. Murky orange colored. Aroma was malty and citrus. Taste was metallic with some chewy bitter hop bite. Better options.

ARH (1141) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 14, 2016
On tap, poured into a pint glass. The aroma is a dry floral and grassy grapefruit. It pours a clear copper, effervescent body with a clean, white fuzz that leaves moderate retention and good web lace. The taste is a medium bitter with just slightly less sweet; nearly balanced. The texture is oily and thin with a fuzzy carbonation and a medium light body. The up front flavor is bitter grapefruit and herb, with a background caramel note that emerges late. The finish is zippy and crisp with a grass and grapefruit flavor. The aftertaste is bread crust and grapefruit rind. It’s refreshing and dry; nothing too fancy, just a classic example of an IPA.

Pours murky blonde with a small white head. Nose is lacking and standard. flavor is very hop forward but fades quickly to a mild finish. Drinkable but unimpressive.
