COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If a Russian Imperial Stout is a big stout brewed for Russia, what is a big stout brewed with hazelnuts imported from Georgia, a country bordering Russia? We maintain that it should be called a Georgian Imperial Stout. So now that’s a thing. This is a sipping beer, with strong notes of chocolate and roasted nuts, all with the viscosity of warm syrup. This is cold beer though, not warm syrup, so it tastes way better. Although we would recommend you let it warm up a bit in the glass before sipping.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is roast malts chocolate caramel hazelnuts coffee and a little black licorice. Taste is more of the chocolate roast malts coffee and a acidic bitterness on the end.

At BHB depot fest... Great imperial stout, cool idea. Coffee nutty chocolate, booze burn. Solid, all around.

650ml bottle from GT Package in Grovetown, shared with bananabi11. Black pour with a beige head, or lighter, which was incongruous. This is a big brew. Nuts, Chocolate. Sweet fruits, especially some raisin presence. Big oak presence, enough to remind of Oak Yeti. Some phenols. Alcohol. A big brew ... 14

4/2/16. On tap at the Burnt Hickory 4th Anniversary Bash. Clever name and concept. Black pour with a nice tan head, good lacing. Nice aroma, typical impy stout - coffee, rich, dark chocolate, some caramel, a touch of acidity from the roasted malts, muted nuttiness if you search for it - I probably wouldn’t have been able to guess. Good flavor, rich, chocolate, coffee, caramel, doughy. Again some light nuttiness if I search, but probably couldn’t identify specifically, though it probably adds depth. Tasty.

The hazelnuts are a really good complement to the malt favors. The only flaw is that the beer is slightly overly sweet without balancing bitterness.

Black pour glugged out of the bottle, dark brown head. Deliveres on appearance for sure. Big roasty, sweet aroma full of vanilla, sweet hazelnut, dark cocoa, touch of fruit. Flavors were surprisinly super balanced, lots of roasty malt, nutty sweet vanilla, earthy bittersweet finish. Massive mouthfeel, one of the biggest I’ve had in a long time. Moderate carbonation, oily, slick, mega rich. I’d say they knocked this one out of the park as their first big stout. Awesome.

22 oz bottle purchased in Atlanta.

Pours near black and near opaque.
Hazelnuts lend a not entirely pleasant aroma but work better in tasting where there’s a generous load of dark roasted grains. Well hidden alcohol.
Good, full body.

Cybercat (6223) - Georgia, USA - MAR 5, 2016
Pours opaque coffee brown with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma presents mouth-watering roast malt, nutty, cinnamon, coffee and semi-sweet chocolate notes. Bold flavor delights with roast malt, nutty, molasses, chocolate, coffee and spicy tones. Mouthfeel features firm, viscous and smooth body, though not too much fizz. Get your Georgian on - Monday night, or any night.
