Brux 07. Pours a hazy yello with no head.Very sweet with bubblegum flavors of banana. No carbonation. Tastes like candy and artificial bananajuice. Very bad indeed. I thought I would at least get a rating from some exotic country. The joke is on me.

330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. Though real bananas are used, this manages to taste very artificial and quite chemical. The extra sugar and the forced carbonation dont aid the enjoyment. Its a shame this isnt better tasting as bananas seem to go well with ale - the banana taste being sometimes found in characterful British ales. The base for this is a vague lambikesque beer, the sort of thing that Huyghe specialises in. Its moderately drinkable and quite fun. Not a world class act at all, but fairly harmless nonsense.

330ml shared during a rating session at Finns in Troms. Unclear yellow body. Low-level head. Smells like sweet banana split. Very sweet banana taste with an acid touch. Sticky mass and not pleasant to drink (18.04.2007).

Grovlam (4208) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 17, 2007
Bottle. Non excising head. No lacing what so ever. Light yellow color with some light particles in flow. Aroma was heavy banana, sweet malt; light acidic like notes, some fruit maybe peach. Light bodied with a soft carbonation. Flavor was heavy sweet malt, not much to balancing this beer. Sweet finish. One dimensional.

Smells like mashed bananas, no doubt about the correct name of this beer. If you like babana - youll like this. If you like beer though, -then you dont want another one of this one. I do hope for the best of Ghana, that you can get used to it somehow. (Porterhouse, Dublin March 2007)

I only bought this because it mentioned Fairtrade, what an awful awful excuse of a beer this is, avoid at all costs

Pale gold, faintly misty pour. Sticky banana cake snout. A far too heavy hand with the sugar spoon, Im afraid. Sugar, sugar, sugar and....hold on a minute...whats that distinctly fruity note lurking in the background?......oh yeah, banana. LOTS of banana. But even more sugar. At least its not aspartame, I suppose. Amazed to find its Belgian, because its about as subtle as a 40ft artic (full of bananas) thundering towards your skull. The sweetest beer I hope I ever sample, and very nearly a drainpour. The things we subject ourselves to in the name of research......
