Cloudy orange with a huge thick white head. Yeasty Belgian golden ale type aroma. Acidic taste well balanced with some malt sweetness, and an almost saison like taste. Unfortunately, this beer is way overcarbonated. Every sip vaporizes on your tounge in an annoying sizzling flash of bubbles. Maybe they put the extra bubbles in it because the rough interior surface of a gourd will cause a lot of carbonation to come out of solution. While this is a decent Belgian style ale, I was expecting something much more exotic with all of the "authentic African style" hype.

Bijzonder bier, dit palmnootbrouwsel. Onverwacht aangenaam eigenlijk. Het is een droog, hartig bier dat in de verte doet denken aan herfstbok. Krachtig aroma, met karamel en herfstgeur. Smaak vol, krachtig bitter met een diepere hartige laag. Laat zich lastig omschrijven. Iets fruitigs.

Aroma: sweet notes and Mango. Appearance: hazy golden color and white head. Taste: fruity, mango notes, sweet. Palate: low body and medium carbonation. Overall: sweet fruity beer, that’s all.

Mmm, this is not my cup of tea. The beer has a brown color. The beer has some cloudiness in it. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of rough slightly off-white foam. The looks aren’t bad. The smell is not what I like. It is quite mild. I smell a certain bitterness, that seems a bit simple. There is also a unpleasant touch, a bit sweet. I don’t really like it. It must be the beer type. Maybe it’s nice for the lovers. The taste is also not my thing. It’s to bitter. The bitterness is an unpleasant bitterness. It’s not my thing. I expected a sweeter more tropical beer.

Bottle in an African resteraunt in Amsterdam. A little hard to judge the colour as it was served in a coconut shell, but it looked a clear amber as it poured. Excellent thick lasting foamy off white head. Mild aroma. Just a touch of citrus, wheat and nut. The taste is pretty watery. Slightly sweet with very light spice and light nutiness. Pretty bland, but drinkable.

Bottle from bier huis, ossett. Dark golden copperish with lasting white head. Aroma is near non existent, a bit nutty, and a bit syrupy. Taste is sweet and that’s it. A bit fizzy. Not great.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a hazy brown beer with a white creamy head of foam. It has a spicy red fruit, currant and nutty flavour followed by a creamy, warming slight soapy dried fruit finish.
