3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle poured into shaker pint. Crystal clear copper in color with a foamy white two-finger head that recedes to a thin cap. Aroma is of fruity yeast, caramel malt, bread, and grass. The taste is sweet with caramel, bread, apple, and biscuit. Only a slight bitter grass note comes through in the swallow. Medium-light body, thin texture, above average active carbonation, sweet finish.
Bottle at home two organic beers in a week. Not sure exactly what makes them less than fundamentally. Anyways fine copper pour. Nose is faint berry malt and cardboard. Tastes much the same some fruit and earth and paper. Smooth palate odd aftertaste. guadua (1) - Florida, USA - SEP 20, 2017 does not count
Did not like this beer at all. Had a flat nasty taste. It left a bad aftertaste that lingered for way too long. Will not be buying this beer again. jsmerig (1667) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2017
Pours a orange yellow with a foamy tan head. Aroma of berry and lemon. Taste is malty with a Belgian flavor.

Almost like a yuengling with more flavor. A pleasant surprise, hops hit at beginning yet remain smooth throughout.

Bottle with "thanks" to mom-in-law. So this pours a nice clear gold with a thin head. It smells like "beer" and tastes like "beer" and has very little to offer other than those humble observations.

12oz bottle pours dark golden color nose is sweet and spice taste is too sweet for me. Godfather50 (252) - SCOTLAND - OCT 22, 2016
This poured headless and looked uninviting. Flavour was plum wine and fermenting fruit. Didn’t expect that. Bit of spicy in there. Could be a touch of sour. I liked it and applauded the brewery for there unique beer. ronaldtheriot (1994) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - SEP 4, 2016
Monk in the Trunk has a thin, white head, a semi-clear, amber appearance, and some rather forceful bubbles. No lacing is noticed. Aroma is rich- light caramel, horse blanket, and barley juice. Taste is odd- candy sugar, horse blanket, wet hay, plums, tea, and no bitterness, with maybe a chalky undertaste. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Monk in the Trunk finishes dry and weird. On tap at Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, FL. Amber, poppy pour in plastic mug on the beach. Nose is malty, toasty, caramel. Taste is malty and sweet and yeasty. Low carbonation. Quite sweet overall. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2016
12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Bread, lighter spices, and a sugary sweetness.
