There is no Compromise Here!
Two hundred years ago, India Pale Ale was the perfect solution to the demand in Colonial India for fine English beer: extra hops and a generously higher alcohol content to ensure the brew survived the trip. Today, a British-style IPA is an unquestioned favourite among those who treasure a full bodied flavourful beer. Dead Reckoning Royal IPA draws its unique personality from the vibrant hues of four carefully-chosen British hops, as well as the earthy wit of two incessantly charming malts. Dead Reckoning Royal IPA will deliver an exquisite calvacade of rich flavours and a fist-full of refreshment, all with a brain-tickling punch.

Bottle. Pale copper in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of toffee, sweet burnt orange peel, and a bit of dank hops. Pine resin, orange, and heavy toffee-ish malts in the mouth. Medium bodied with a moderate amount of bitterness. Closer to an amber ale than an Imperial IPA.

Bottle. Crystal clear Amber pour with a beige head. Aroma is a little richer than the flavour, not particularly hoppy for a 7.5 ABV IPA, but not bad. Some pineapple and melon notes, maybe a little overly sweet.

Copper body that's clear with a light white head. Grassy armoma with hints of citrus. Taste is hoppy with hints of caramel and oak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ENG: 650ml bottle from Liquor Depot on Whyte, Edmonton. Gold to amber and clean color, small tan head but with some nice lacing. Aromas are very malty with licorice and roasted caramel. Taste is very bitter-sweet, caramel, candy, with notes of chocolate and ice cream, with some kind of smooth-sweet-cream. There might be some hops but it’s really hidden under the overwhelming maltiness. The aftertaste is mostly roasted caramel with a hint of bitterness. It’s not that bad, I can even say it’s an interesting beer, but... this is not an IPA. I don’t know how to classify it, maybe dark / imperial red ale? So my rating is somehow founded on the taste itself, not the style described by the brewery. ///~~~///~~~/// PL: Butelka 650ml z Liquor Depot w Edmonton. Złoto-bursztynowa barwa, klarowna, z niewielką pianą ale z ładnym lejsingiem. Aromaty mocno słodowe, lukrecja i palony karmel.

Bottle. Preety red amber, lowish head. Light oxidized, eathy british hops and caramel malt aroma. Chewy, mellow mouthfeel. Dry grassy and earthy hops, light fruity (apple) notes, broad caramel. A bit dusty, but in quite nice barleywine/old ale really - good balance and with a light minerally finish which makes it a lot more moreish than most IIPAs will be.

Sample at the Beer Heads MeetUp bottle share event in October 2014. Pours a clear copper orange with an off white head. Floral nose. Light citrus and caramel flavors. Somewhat bitter finish.

cmacklin (1374) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 17, 2014
650 ml bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber colour with a thin off-white head. Faint aroma of caramel malt and grain. Sweet flavour of caramel malt and citrus with a dry, resiny, lightly bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not bad for an IPA but lacking the hop profile for a Double.

Bottle. This was pretty disappointing. Way too malty and no where near enough hops to offset. Nice dark amber colour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours Amber, minimal head. Aroma of barley, malts. Taste is hoppy, malty, grainy. Not too bad for this brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Terrible. I don't know how this could be considered an IPA. Terrible. I tried to tell myself I was drinking a Traditional instead if an IPA but even that didn't help. Poured 75% of the bottle down the drain. Did I mention this is a terrible beer? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
