Small bottle at home. Almost black with a perfect creamy hazelnut colored head. Dried prunes, port wine, lots of nuts, old coffee, dried berries. This has loads of dried fruits and port, the age is very noticeable here. Some sweet malts, sugar, chocolate and more ‘beer’ as it opens up. Marzipan, fudge... Quite sweet, bit over medium bitter and very light sour. Full bodied with soft mouthcoating carbonation. The age is really showing here and it’s better with some time in the glass, but it’s a very enjoyable drink with great looks and body. kraddel (9428) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUL 13, 2017
Sampled at VCBF 2017. Thnx for sharing Tim and Eugene ! Pours black, no real head. Smell is dry, intense. Cocoa, dark malts. Taste is full, dark malts. mild booze. not bad. tderoeck (10941) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 12, 2017

Clear dark brown beer, small irregular off-white head, dissipates quickly, Aroma: spicy, funky, lots of nice smells, soft roast, caramel, some cinnamon. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sourish start, funky, raspberries, roasted, sweet, caramel, some coffee, alcohol. Aftertaste: more alcohol, caramel, pretty roasted, some banana peel, lovely stuff. Now (when typing my written rating) that I know it’s a blend with a Triple Weisse, the banana suddenly makes sense.
Thank you kraddel & tderoeck! Sampled 180 ml. bottle @ VCBF 2017. #700 Belgian Strong Ale. Black, little tanned. Nose is sweet boozy, sugar, molasses, warming, bark & black chocolate. Taste is boozy sweet sugar, molasses, dark chocolate, candy, warming. Body is sticky, sweet sugar. Very neat sweet warming stuff. Given that it contains De Molen Mooi & Meedogenloos & Struise Black Albert, my fondness of it makes sense. BigMomma (251) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUN 11, 2017
@VCBF2017. What a nose! Full malty aroma with lots of dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, malty, milk chocolate and a slight touch of alcohol. Unfortunately its body and flavor do not live up to what you expected from its nose.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 26 Sep 2015) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, dried fruit and black rye bread. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, brown sugar and a sweet and vinous finish with a mild bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Tasty and quite heavy, still in good balance. Nice one. Leini (2079) - SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2015
