Draught at Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Cloudy pale amber, small head. Lovely rich tropical fruit aroma. With restrained swetness and beautifully curvy, yet slim body, seemless flavour of gooseberries, mang and lychee it’s a very directly appealing beer. With increasingly powerful bitterness stopping just short of inkyness it’s perfectly carried out. If anything it is, like most IPAs, not very complex. It’s all about American hops. Poured a hazy golden liquid with a small foam that left a nice lacing. It had a strong smell of grassy hops, citrus and grapefruit. The taste is very fresh with medium to high bitterness. Lots of grapefruit and grassy hops. A very enjoyable beer, I would love to have this on a sunny day.

330ml draught, 6.7% abv, batch 65, at Monks Café Sveavägen. Served in the pubs own tulip glass. Slightly hazy, orange-amber in appearance. Lacing-head. Aroma of an inviting balance of malts and hops. Mainly citrus shells with spices in flavour. Solid bitter ending. Medium to full bodied. Absolutely to my liking (Stockholm, 03.09.2009). screwball (1099) - Motala, SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2010

Monks Cafe Porterhouse. Very hazy amber beer, big white head. Palate is soft and airy and slightly dry. Soft airy creamy malt supports good hops. Pine and lesser grass, tangerine and a touch of yellow grapefruit. Finish is soft and fluffy! Medium bitter linger - good stuff!
Draft @ Monk’s American Bar, Stockholm. Pours golden orange and hazy, with little head. Aroma has a lot of grapefruit and red grapefruit. There is also caramel, flowery-like and spicy notes. Taste has strong twiggy and wooden notes, with less of caramel, grassy, flowery and buttery notes. Palate is dry and bitter, like an IPA should be. Dry, bitter and twiggy IPA, little flowery than most IPAs, and stands out a little with it.
