Location: Draft at Proletariat, 12/21/12
Aroma: The nose has some spice, a little grass, yeast, and caramel malts
Appearance: It pours an unclear gold-orange, with small white head and spotty lace
Flavor: This one tastes medium sweet, with a light zesty hop bitterness on finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a clean feel, soft carbonation, and lightly dry finish
This one exceeded my expectations for sure. I was expecting a boring blond, but what I got was much better then that. The malts are nicely balanced by a light, but zesty hop presence that just works. This was a perfect example of a beer that a non-beer lover might order that has enough character for beer lovers to enjoy it too.
Bottle. Aroma of wheat, yeast and citrus. Unclear light yellow colour with White head. Plenty of wheat in flavour nicely balanced with yeast and a bit of fruit. crossovert (12666) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Pour is one of the best I have ever seen. Rivals duvel very much so. The smell is nice, it is vibrant and peppery ,hint of licorice spice and citrus. The flavor is nice, bready, touch of hops, slight metal, licorice. Licorice is cloying a bit in the finish but it remains fairly crisp. I like it. Thick white head. Clear yellow body. Aroma is quite typical, typical Belgian style aroma. Dominating cardboard with yeast and grains. So not that inviting.
The flavour is luckily a lot better! Herbs, malts, hay, yeast, bitters, light yellow fruity, some grains and a bread...
The aftertaste is thin, light malty, grainy, yellow fruit tints and a yeasty sprinkle.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel and medium bodied.
The flavour is not so good, the rest is fine! More than decent! CH-303 (2197) - Fribourg, SWITZERLAND - DEC 6, 2009
Appearance: Light yellow golden. Clear. Very little head.
Aroma: Sweet. Fruit and some citrus. Perfume.
