Backlog, Bottle with Pat in 2010. Poured a dark brown with fast receding head. Aroma and flavor of heavy cherries, grapes, malt, and various dark berry. Some toffee, oak, vino and blackberry as it warms. Medium to thicker mouthfeel.

Carbonazione media, medio-bassa, corpo medio.

fiammanghilla (990) - Genova, ITALY - MAY 9, 2017
Bottiglia 33cl. Scura con schiuma inesistente. Al naso resta un pelo di torrefatto, ma domina l’acido. Anche in bocca conferma una leggera aceticità, corpo medio, finale con malto torrefatto

Bottle(old as hell). Dark pour with tan head. Dark tart fruit, wine, oak aromas. Charred malt, chocolate, wine, cherry, oak and smoke?

2009 vintage. 375mL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a deep dark mahogany / dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very dry, oaky and vinous, with dry wood and grapes. Flavour is similar, with dominating dry vinous and oaky notes – I get mostly wine and wood here. Quite complex. Drinkable in small amounts, as the intense wine and oak become slightly overbearing after a while. This has held up exceptionally well over the past 5 years. Nice stuff.

Jesterdeal (1986) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Bottle thanks to Dan. Aroma is plums, chocolate, and port. Pours deep brown to black with no head. Taste is chocolate, oak, plum, cabernet, and caramel. Very sweet but it has a great tart oak port taste to it. Not too intense but some nice complexity.

savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Bottle thanks to Shig. Murky dark brown with a spotty head. Aroma is heavy red wine and oak mostly with some alcohol and dark fruit and lightly musty. Flavor is tanic oak, raisin, red wine and some tartness. Medium body with soft carbonation. Very interesting beer, very wine like all around.

SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle: Poured a reddish black with thin tan color head. Aroma was strong sour grapes and very wine like. Taste was sour grapes with offsetting malts and strong alcohol warming.

Grapes, booze, other vinous characteristics dominate start to finish. Really reminds me of a mediocre wine in many ways. No thanks.

Perfect balance, good chocolate, very vinous, maturing very well. Excellent.

2012-03-24, bottle from the brewer, thanks Riccardo! Vintage 2009, 3 years old, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Very dark brown color, almost black; small head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, with a pleasant wine twist, light wood too. The body is strong enough, with malt flavor, chocolate, quite strong sour presence, light fruits, vinous. Astringent final.
Dynamic and very pleasant, complex.
