How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed when probably a year of age. Bottle sent to me by Savvy1982, thanks a lot Kyle.
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a very small beige head.
In long: Nose is intensely dirty-funky, with leathery brett, horse blanket, old wet wood, ripe fruits. Taste has that ‘biting-in-wet-later’ brett flavor, some lactic and acetic acid, strong vinous notes (both red and white wine), desalted sweat, ripe fruits of all kinds (ripe apples, ripe apricots, ripe bananas, ripe stuff), notes of vanilla, vegetal notes, very yeasty. Decent mouthfeel with a fluffy texture and plenty of soft bubbles. The actual beer intensity is medium for the style, not a session beer but not one of those sipper sours either. A bit on the dirty side of things for sure but I don’t mind it, not at all. A good beer but not worth the hefty price tag, but at least I rated a rare beer, and there are two kinds of people in this world, those who are obsessed with rating everything and those who are not, and personally I give the second kind of people a score above 3.2 and below.

Very hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Cider like nose! Palate is smooth and a little dry. The Calvados barrel dominates here. Sweet ciderish apple, mild woody dryness and a little spice. Tiny bit of malt underneath. Semi dry finish. A very appley beer! In a good way!

Bottle from Star Grocery. Pours reddish copper with a tiny beige head and a strange fermented apple aroma. There is a sweet and sour caramel malt flavor with plenty of ester from the Belgian yeast. The calvados is quite detectable in the finish.

Bottle @ home. Pours hazy copper with a medium to small, frothy white head, short retention with light spotty lacing. Aroma is fresh oak, cellar notes, dates and aged apple/pear esters with vinous notes, grapes, and cookie malt. Flavor is aged wine, wet oak, grapes, figs, dates, and cookie malt with light spicy alcohol notes, lightly tart and vinegar notes with a dry finish. Bottle. Pours murky light brown with small tan head. Nose/taste of fermented fruit, caramel, sour cherry, oak and Belgian yeast. Light woody alcohol bite in finish. Medium body.
