There’s plenty of rich maltiness from this Pale Ale and higher-kilned malt combination. The Cascade and special New Zealand hops create a fruity aroma with a dose of bitterness to drive home the hop flavour. A beer for the IPA aficionado with a distinctly Kiwi style. Perfect for a moment spent catching up with old mates.

Bottle in Avignon-- Pours clear golden with thin white head. Nose is grassy. Aromas are herbal and spicy hops. Average carbonation, medium body. Medium bitter and grassy finish. A bit boozy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Helder amberkleurig bier met witte wandklevende schuimkraag. Geur: granen, metaal. Smaak: moutzoetig en bitter, metaal. Medium koolzuurprikkel.

What’s in a name. Well if one is expecting an IPA, one should get an IPA. Nice amber colour but with a very small head. Lightly malted and hopped; a hint of peppery herbs. Little bite, little mouthfeel.

33 cl bottle at home. Pours clear golden with medium white head. Aroma: mainly malts, caramel, raisins and some apricot. Taste: medium sweetness with low bitterness. Only malts in the taste. Palate: medium bodied, somewhat sticky texture and average carbonation. This beer would fit better as a blond beer than an IPA, because of the lack of hops.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, some creamy sweetness but also with a pretty odd grainy tang. Piney hops, trace of spice. Banana esters on the smooth finish. It’s odd for sure but by no means terrible. I just don’t understand why importers are bringing this stuff in when there are far better breweries in NZ.

33cl bottle at home. Somewhat hazy golden with a medium white soapy head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitter tones. Malts, caramel, grain and chemicals. This ain’t no IPA. Very bad brew.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear dar amber, off-white head. Smells of caramel and lollipops, vague fruity notes and maybe some hops. Or maybe not. Hints of alcohol. The taste is much worse, caramel, lollipops and light malty notes are totally lost in the head of harsh alcohol. The finish is harsh and bitter, but mostly alcoholic rather than hoppy. More like a strong lager.
