Based on a traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen with added sweetness. Sun-ripened Otago apricots balance the tart, clove and banana flavours of our wheat malt and special yeast. Overlaid with a fine, noble hop to create a fresh, spicy finish. Perfect for that moment when you get to the bach.

I like Monteith’s Brewer’s Series. This beer poured a light gold colour, slightly cloudy. There was at least two fingers of frothy, white head that stayed around for a while before eventually fading to very little. There was moderate carbonation. It smelt nice with apricots being prevalent. The taste was of apricot and wheat with some bitterness. It was a tasty, refreshing beer.

Bottle from 1st Choice. Clear, bright golden, aroma is all sweet apricot jam, drier than expected, apricot dominates flavour as well, some underlying tartness. Not great.

Clear straw yellow color, white head. Sweet, sugary, fruity, apricot taste. Apricot aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, fruity, apricot scent.

Draft at Beervana. Hazy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of fresh fruit, citrus. Taste is softly sour apricot, white bread dough. Tasty.

For the girls to pre-load with before they hit the high school ball. Like a wine cooler but made with beer.

From 500 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Strong aromas of fresh apricots with lighter scents of bubblegum, wheat and lemon. Taste is similar with a strong apricot taste up front with some zesty lemon and light spice and some sweetness. Finishes quite crisply with an apricot aftertaste. Impressed that it doesn’t have any artificial notes at all. The hefe characters are light and it drinks more like a lager in the body. Unusual and not bad.

Fresh and fruity with the complexity of a wheat beer. Would make a wonderful summer drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
