1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Hmm. Pretty shabby. Very watery and bland... I was hoping for more after the black one.
Golden color with good head.
Aroma is stewed vegetables, corn, grain and sulfur.
Low bitterness, more grain, and sweetish finish.
Nothing to write home about but perfectly drinkable. explosivedog (1186) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 18, 2017
On tap. Pours gold. Lemon, biscuit, lots of malt acidity. Pretty crisp. Drinkable, but really not that much flavour. scirtes (627) - POLAND - NOV 26, 2016
Bottle. Pours golden, with white head. A rather ordinary, dull lager, with hint of boiled vegetables in aroma. tombutlin (313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 2, 2016
Even by Monteiths’ appalling standards, this is one of the worst beers. Sweet sugar pop. I can’t even bring myself to give it a 4/5 for appearance because the mere sight of it makes me depressed DylansDad (642) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 30, 2016
Impressive in the way that despite so many points against it (eg, sickly honey sweet, almost complete lack of bitterness except right at the very end, generic corn and apple flavours, etc) it actually goes down relatively crisply and cleanly. It’s a pretty generic macro lager and I gave it an extra point for not having some meaningless wank like "Premium", "Brewed since 16**", "Blah blah Purity Laws", "By Appointment of King Scratchy Scrotum-Head" etc etc on the label. Not enjoyable, per se, but it’s on the better side of m’eh.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, herbs, some wooden notes and some herbs to it. Flavour is grassy herbal, earthy and some dusty notes. manthropology (8) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 4, 2015 does not count
On tap at Mr Wows Emporium, Fitzroy.
Probably my favorite lager going. Its like delicious liquid cashew nut with a slight bitterness to balance. Extremely quaffable Travlr (24897) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 27, 2015
From notes. Bottle. Clear golden yellow color, small white head that settles quickly. Aroma of grain. Taste is lightly bitter straw. StevieT (2013) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 28, 2015
From a bottle. Smooth and slightly fruity, not too bad, would drink it over most lagers. TedE (1332) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 20, 2015
330ml bottle into glass. Sweet malt nose. Golden amber beer with thick white head. A few bubbles. Chalky mineral water mouthfeel. A little zing, finish is a suggestion of malt with slight hoppiness. Maybe bubblegum sweetness right at the end. Very drinkable.
